Truman Tournament: Top Underclassmen Guards

Prep Girls Hoops Missouri takes a look at the top young guards and wings from watching the action at the Pete Hile Tournament at Truman.   <img class="alignnone size-medium wp-image-301722" src="https://prephoops-uploads.s3.amazonaws.com/pgh/uploads/2021/06/5DE99450-C2ED-4CE1-805E-600DA71A3A70.jpeg" alt="" width="300" height="225" /> [player_tooltip player_id="261896" first="Bailey" last="Burns"] (Lee’s Summit West): The 5’9" 2023 shooting guard is an impressive offensive player in all facets. She’s very smooth off the dribble and she can get buckets at all three levels. She creates space to shoot the perimeter jumper while also being able to penetrate and get money in the lane.   [player_tooltip player_id="265118" first="Jamya" last="McPherson"] (St. Thomas Aquinas): An athletic 5’8" combo guard who really impacts the game at both ends of the floor. She looks to push the tempo and can attack the basket very well. She was also able to knock down some open 3-pointers. She also dropped some nice dimes to her talented teammates in the post. She’s an excellent 3-point shooter, but she can also put it on the floor and pass the ball well. She is capable of applying good on-ball pressure on the defensive end. She’s a sound ball handler who can deliver nice passes and hit the open 3-pointer.   [player_tooltip player_id="191469" first="Catherine" last="Goodwin"] (St. Thomas Aquinas): A 2023 point guard who is aggressive and plays a very fearless game. She didn’t mind driving into the lane in the land of the trees. She’s quick and she plays with good pace.
