The Class of 2023 has a strong presence of perimeter players, both at the point and on the wing. As far as off-guards go, our Top-200 is home to 43 of them, making up 21.5% of all 2023 prospects ranked in Indiana. There are several talented, high-scoring girls, nice athletes, versatile defenders, and playmakers who can occasionally run the offense. Below is a look at those 43 prospects, as well as some added information and analysis on a handful of girls who have stood out since our last rankings update in September.

Fort Wayne South Side | 2023
IN
, 2023, 5-6 SG, Fort Wayne South Side H.S.
– Justice is a long, wiry-strong, athletic guard who can move. She is an aggressive driver who likes to use her athleticism to attack the basket. She also does a nice job of using her length and athleticism to defend. She can take on point guards or off-guards, and she can pick up 84-feet and really bother opposing ball-handlers. She has also worked on making her jumper more consistent.

Southwood | 2023
IN
, 2023, 5-6 SG, Southwood H.S.
– Ella has always been an effective shooter/scorer, but this year she’s stepped it up even more. She has a fairly strong frame, and she’s a solid all-around athlete. But it’s her ability to score at all three levels that causes problems for opponents. This season she is at 20.0 points per game, but she’s also handing out 2.4 assists per game. She has knocked down 47 3-pointers and is at 848 career points.

Crown Point | 2023
IN
, 2023, 5-7 SG, Crown Point H.S.
– Crown Point has a deep roster, so it’s often difficult for everyone to find a role. But Emily is in her second season with the Varsity team, and she has carved out a niche as a situational shooting threat for them. She has a strong frame, she plays extremely hard, but it’s her ability to make open shots when people play off of her that makes her effective. She is also skillful and cerebral in other facets.

North Central (Indianapolis) | 2023
State
IN
, 2023, 5-6 SG, North Central H.S. (Indianapolis)
– Trinity is a nice, versatile, “jack-of-all-trades” type of guard. She has length, strength, and solid athleticism. She can handle it a little and make plays for others, she can knock down an open jumper, and she’s strong attacking the basket straight-line for scores. She can also use her frame to defend taller small forwards when necessary.

Pike | 2023
State
IN
, 2023, 5-6 SG, Pike H.S.
– Gia has seen Varsity action each of the last two seasons, but this year she has stepped into a leadership role and is averaging 16.3 points per game, with several games in the 20s. She has length, wiry strength, and nice quickness to her game. She can knock down shots outside, but she’s almost better when she’s attacking, finishing with a variety of runners and floaters.

Hobart | 2023
State
IN
, 2023, 5-9 CG, Hobart H.S.
– Asia has always possessed talent, but now she’s turning that corner from being an effective scorer to being a takeover player. She has a strong frame, great length, and extremely quick feet. When she wants to, she can be an elite defender. She is shooting it better from outside, but she’s so strong attacking the rim, that she doesn’t have to take a lot of jumpers. She is averaging 23.3 points per game.

South Spencer | 2023
IN
, 2023, 5-5 CG, South Spencer H.S.
– Trinity is a feisty, tough-nosed, hard-working combo guard who always plays with a motor. She has the ability to slide over and play some point guard at times, but she is programmed more as a scorer. She can knock down shots from the perimeter consistently (49 made 3-pointers this year), but she’s also strong attacking the basket and finishing inside or drawing contact.

Trinity Lutheran | 2023
State
IN
, 2023, 5-9 SG, Trinity Lutheran H.S.
– Bailey has put up numbers since her Freshman season, and she recently crossed the 1500-point plateau for Trinity Lutheran. She has nice length, she always plays hard, and she has a smooth, fluidness to her game. She is a capable perimeter shooter with range, but she can also initiate the half-court offense and find open teammates. She has played stronger this year and is rebounding better too.

Center Grove | 2023
IN
, 2023, 5-10 SG, Center Grove H.S.
– Ali was a Perry Meridian kid but transferred to Center Grove this past Summer. She has an athletic frame, length, and she moves well in most directions. When I saw her in the Spring of 2021, she was performing at a high level, knocking down shots outside and attacking the basket for scores. She is a really nice small college prospect and could have a big Spring & Summer.
