Prep Girls Hoops took in some action of a few games down here in Georgetown County over the past few days. The SCHSL Playoffs will be tipping off next on Wednesday February 16. Who is in the playoffs? Who will not go to the postseason? The first stop was out to the Choppee Community of Georgetown County. Carvers Bay HS Lady Bears defeated Scott’s Branch Lady Eagles 47-30. Jerchel Geathers-Washington Jerchel Geathers-Washington 6'0" | PF Carvers Bay | 2024 State SC was able to finish with a double-double in the win for Carvers Bay HS. Geathers manufactured 14 points and 16 rebounds in the win. D’Essence Graham D’Essence Graham 5'7" | SF Carvers Bay | 2025 State SC just a freshman added 16 points in the win.

Geathers was too much at times inside the paint with her ability to carve out space. Jerchel has really good footwork on the floor and will continue to progress in her game down the road. Keonna Felder led the way for Scott’s Branch HS with 7 points. Rosandra Bennett Rosandra Bennett 5'6" | SF Scott's Branch | 2023 State SC did the best she could in the paint for the Lady Eagles. Bennett finished with 6 points and 11 rebounds. Junior center Shanelle Brooks added 6 points in the defeat. Last night the Dillon Lady Wildcats invaded Pawleys Island to play the Waccamaw HS Lady Warriors on Senior Night. The Lady Warriors would start slow and then pull away in a 51-23 victory.

Kiara Smith Kiara Smith 5'6" | SF Waccamaw | 2023 State SC led the way with 13 points in the win this evening. Seniors Nolen Howard scored 7 points and Yazmine Syndab added 6 points in the victory. The Lady Warriors had 11 players reach the scoring column. Ariyann Lawton Ariyann Lawton 5'9" | PF Waccamaw | 2024 State SC finished with 5 points.

Smith came off the bench today and was able to knockdown some shots with her play. Lawton was handling the ball more today than I had seen in the past with her play. Waccamaw HS will look to host an opening round playoff game next week in the Class 3A State Playoffs. The Lady Warriors move to (12-7) on the season. Freshman guard Mariah Campbell Mariah Campbell 5'1" | PG Dillon | 2025 State SC led the way for the Dillon HS Lady Wildcats with 9 points. Dillon HS falls to (3-8) on the season.
