MaxPreps and the St. Louis Post Dispatch tracks the state’s statistical leaders based on what is input into the system by coaches or programs. With the regular season wrapping up and state tournament play right around the corner, we take a look at the leaders in rebounds per game in Illinois.
Madalynn Thompson – Rivers of Life Christian – 2023
Average Per Game: 14.7
Total Rebounds: 147
Games Played: 10
MaxPreps only has stats for ten games for Rivers of Life Christian. Madalynn has made the most of those ten games averaging a double-double with 24.6 PPG and 14.7 RPG. She gets it done at both ends of the court grabbing over 70 boards on each the defensive and offensive end. Thompson has grabbed double digit boards in 9 of 10 games played with a season-high 20 rebounds in a dominating win over Christian Academy of Greater St. Louis.
Emilee Travnicek Emilee Travnicek 6'2" | C Belleville Althoff | 2024 IL – Althoff Catholic – 2024
Average Per Game: 14.2
Total Rebounds: 370
Games Played: 26
The talented sophomore averages 14.2 rebounds a game. She has grabbed double digit boards in 22 of the 26 games played. Emilee has pulled down 20 or more rebounds three times this season with a season-high 21 in late January in a conference matchup against Mt. Vernon.
Alyssa Seymour – Chester – 2022
Average Per Game: 13.0
Total Rebounds: 325
Games Played: 25
Seymour leads her team in scoring and rebounds averaging a double-double at 16 PPG and 13 RPG. She has grabbed double digit rebounds in nearly every game. Alyssa has pulled down 20 or more boards eight times this season with five of those coming in her last five games. The talented senior pulled down a season-high 24 boards twice this season while also scoring a season-high 24 points in both of those games.
Sophia Loden Sophia Loden 5'11" | SF Mascoutah | 2023 State IL – Mascoutah – 2023
Average Per Game: 12.5
Total Rebounds: 351
Games Played: 28
Sophia’s numbers have been impressive all season long for Mascoutah. She is averaging a double-double on the season averaging 22.6 PPG and 12.5 RPG. The junior has hit the double digit rebound mark in 20 of the 28 games. Her most impressive game was early in the season when she ripped down 21 rebounds and dropped 31 points in a close loss to a very tough Civic Memorial team.
Kierstin Miller – Valmeyer – 2024
Average Per Game: 12.4
Total Rebounds: 199
Games Played: 16
Miller gets it done on both the offensive and defensive boards as she has pulled down nearly 100 offensive boards. The sophomore has grabbed double digit boards in 11 of the 16 games helping her to average 12.4 rebounds per game. Kierstin has grabbed a season-high 19 boards twice this season against East Alton-Wood River and Gibault Catholic.
Octavia Heidelberg – Dupo – 2022
Average Per Game: 12.0
Total Rebounds: 275
Games Played: 23
Octavia leads her team in scoring and rebounds and averages a double-double at 14.6 PPG and 12.0 RPG. Her team sits at a 17-8 overall record. She gets it done on both ends of the floor yanking down 123 offensive boards and 152 defensive boards which brings her to a total of 275 rebounds so far this season. Heidelberg had a monster game in a win vs. Metro-East Lutheran when she pulled down 28 boards and dropped 24 points. This was her 3rd time this season grabbing more than 20 rebounds in a game.
Kaylee Hilton – Hillsboro – 2024
Average Per Game: 12.2
Total Rebounds: 208
Games Played: 17
The talented sophomore leads her team in scoring and rebounds averaging a double-double at 12.9 PPG and 12.2 RPG. Kaylee has pulled down double digit rebounds 13 times this season. She dominated the glass during the teams holiday tournament grabbing 48 rebounds over four games and pulling down a season-high 22 during that stretch against Cuba (MO).
Melina Schuette – Tri-Point – 2022
Average Per Game: 11.7
Total Rebounds: 222
Games Played: 19
The senior forward has nearly identical rebound totals from the offensive and defensive end of the court helping her to a total of 222 boards this season. Melina has grabbed double digit boards 12 times this year. Her most impressive outing of the season was in a win vs Momence grabbing 20 boards with 16 of those being on the offensive glass.
Marissa Hilt – Bloomington – 2022
Average Per Game: 11.5
Total Rebounds: 254
Games Played: 22
Marissa averages a double-double with 15.5 PPG and 11.5 RPG. She has grabbed double digit rebounds 13 times this season while pulling down over ten on the offensive glass twice. Hilt’s biggest game this season ended in her grabbing 24 boards while scoring 31 points in a close loss to Limestone.
Amiah Hargrove Amiah Hargrove 6'2" | SF Christopher | 2024 State IL – Christopher – 2024
Average Per Game: 10.9
Total Rebounds: 262
Games Played: 24
This is the second top performer list we have found Amiah on. She averages 24.7 PPG to go along with her 10.9 RPG that helps her to average a double-double on the season. Amiah had a monster game vs. Vienna when she ripped down 20 boards and dropped 31 points while grabbing 15 rebounds from the defensive end to help her team come out with a win. The Sophomore has grabbed double digit rebounds 14 times this season to help her team to an overall record of 21-3.
