There were some excellent prospect performances last night, specifically from perimeter players around the state. Let’s take a look at guards across Michigan that had top Tuesday performances and turned the heads of scouts, coaches, and fans.
<strong>[player_tooltip player_id="244259" first="Riley" last="Abney"] (2024, CG. Brandon)</strong>
Abney is having a dominating season. While her team was defeated, her performance still stood out. Abney scored 21 points, dished out 3 assists, grabbed 3 boards, and also had a block.
<strong>[player_tooltip player_id="244745" first="Braxcynn" last="Baker"] (2024, CG, Lowell)</strong>
Baker led the charges in a huge 59-53 victory against Grand Rapids Christian. She scorched the nets with a game high 29 points. In the process, Baker broke the Lowell single season scoring record.
<strong>[player_tooltip player_id="188582" first="Macy" last="Brown"] (2023, PG, East Grand Rapids)</strong>
Brown is an elite point guard with some major next level skills. She led her team to 53-46 win over Forest Hills Northern, scoring 20 points in the game.
<strong>[player_tooltip player_id="335984" first="Olivia" last="Bussell"] (2022, CG, Monroe)</strong>
Rochester University is getting a gem in Bussell. She led her Monroe team to a big 64-57 win over Ann Arbor Huron last night. Bussell scoredc 22 points and grabbed 7 rebounds. Her speed and energy on both ends of the floor are huge assets in her game.
<strong>[player_tooltip player_id="147715" first="Theryn" last="Hallock"] (2022, CG, Forest Hills Central)</strong>
Hallock is an elite perimeter prospect on a national scale and showed that last night. Let’s start by saying that she led her team to a very impressive 74-45 win against Greenville. Now let’s add that Hallock went off, scorching the nets for 50 points. She set a new single game school scoring record, not shockingly, topping her own mark.
<strong>Anna Ignatoski (2025, PG, West Catholic)</strong>
Ignatoski is an exciting young athlete. She showed her scoring punch last night in a win over Fruitport, scoring 21 points. West Catholic is a very tough matchup, and that increases exponentially when Ignatoski is rolling.
<strong>[player_tooltip player_id="147716" first="Abbey" last="Kimball"] (2022, PG, West Catholic)</strong>
Kimball is currently ranked as the #63 prospect in the country by Prep Girls Hoops. It’s easy to see why when she runs the show and scores an efficient 22 points like last night. She was the game high scorer in the win over Fruitport.
<strong>[player_tooltip player_id="186364" first="Alexandra" last="Kolnitys"] (2022, PG, Midland Dow)</strong>
Kolnitys went off in the second half of her team’s huge 56-45 win against Carman-Ainsworth. She had a 27 point game, taking over offensively late in the game. The win guaranteed at least a share of the SVL title.
<strong>[player_tooltip player_id="147714" first="Mya" last="Petticord"] (2022, PG, Arbor Prep)</strong>
Petticord reminded us all last night as to how lucky we have been to have watched her for the last 4 years. She was the head of the snake in her squads impressive 65-38 win over Grass Lake last night. She had a double-double with 17 points and 10 assists. Petticord also added 4 reebounds.
<strong>[player_tooltip player_id="189300" first="Shamya" last="Reid"] (2023, PG, Westfield Prep)</strong>
Reid is proving time and time again this season that she’s a true superstar player here in Michigan. The slippery lead guard had a team high 21 points in a tough win against Grosse Pointe North.
<strong>[player_tooltip player_id="147720" first="Jaci" last="Tubergen"] (2022, SG, Hudsonville)</strong>
Tubergen has had a truly memorable high school basketball career. In a win over Jenison last night, Tubergen became Hudsonville’s all time leading scorer. The victory also wrapped up an OK Red championship.
