Following my long post covering day 1 and my day 2 report on point and shooting guards enjoy is the look at combo guards slash wings and small forwards from day 2.
Karter Alvord Karter Alvord 5'8" | SF McPherson | 2024 State KS , 5’8″, SF, McPherson, 2024 – Alvord has a good build who generates good strength from her lower body. She took care of the ball, showed good hands, and looked to create. She knocked down a nice mid-range jumper off the bounce but where she excelled was on defense and on the boards. Usually matched up with taller and longer players, she did a great job of boxing them out pressuring passing lanes and the ball.
Lily Kovalcik Lily Kovalcik 5'7" | SG Shawnee Mission South | 2022 State KS , 5’8″, CG, Shawnee Mission South, 2022 – Kovalcik was in the groove on day 2 showing off her deep three point range and ability to box out away from perimeter shots.
Nascent Robinson, 5’5″, CG, Wichita Northwest, 2024 – Robinson showed open court ability including going at a defender one-on-one in transition and making a quick play with her feet on the left block for an easier lay-in than expected. She also knocked down a pair of threes.
