The 695Hoops Public vs. Private Challenge returned with a 7 game line up after a two year Covid19 related hiatus. St. Frances Academy was the host school and the gym was packed by the time the finale of Poly versus St. Frances tipped off. Here is a look at some of the high scorers from the event.
<strong>Ja’la Bannerman, St. Frances, 2022</strong>
Ja’la is beggining to be a regular in these segments. Against Poly she shot the ball very well and knocked down three more 3 pointers, two in the second half. The athletic combo guard is playing with a lot of confidence right now and poured in 20 points to lead both teams in scoring.

Andea provided a nice inside presence and some scoring punch for the Panthers. Her physical play and ability to establish herself as a low post presence in the paint really opened up the offense for her team. She scored 16 points in the win.

This was a very efficient performance for the standout point guard who is committed to Sacred Heart University. She posted a near triple double in this one with 26 points and 11 rebounds.
<strong>[player_tooltip player_id="137211" first="Page" last="Greenburg"], Maret, 2022</strong>
Page had an outstanding game, showing off her full arsenal on her way to posting 26 points in their blowout win. The Brown recruit dropped in five three pointers and a number of mid range jumpers when the defense closed out aggressively. She looks like she is ready to be a day one impact player at the next level.
<strong>[player_tooltip player_id="137218" first="Natalie" last="Johnson"], North Point, 2022</strong>
Natalie is a physical and strong guard that showed off her post moves and mid range skills. She scored a team high 26 points without making a single three pointer. She really went to work by backing down guards and using her excellent footwork to get quality shots. She patiently found her spots and beat defenders off the dribble which allowed her to score in bunches. She has signed with Robert Morris University.
<strong>Mekhia Chase, St. Mary’s Ryken, 2023</strong>
Mekhia is an exposive and powerful guard with several D1 colleges in pursuit. She turns defense into points on a regular basis with her quick hands leading to steals and easy transiton buckets. She has incredible balance and body control which allows her to finish through contact and get to the foul line. She knocked down a couple of threes but did most of her damage on drives, slashes and pull ups. She finished with a game high 25 points.
<strong>[player_tooltip player_id="303119" first="Meghan" last="Yarnevich"], Howard, 2025</strong>
Meghan went to work right away with six first quarter points and established herself as a low post presence. Once Mercy’s defense began to react to her presence Howard’s offense began to roll as everyone else starting hitting shots. Meghan finished with a team high 17 points.
<strong>Ryleigh Adams, South River, 2025</strong>
Ryleigh put her fingerprints all over this game and finished with a total of 20 points. She showed off a nice touch on her shot and a good first step to get by defenders. She has good size at 5'10" and looks comfortable in her power forward role.
<strong>Maya Carnes, Friends, 2022</strong>
Maya is a versatile scoring point guard that is stil unsigned. She faced a ton of different looks and defensive pressure against South River but still managed to score a team high 20 points out of her team's 35 on the day.
