The Division 1 playoffs saw high level basketball played by some terrific student-athletes. In the Final 4, West Bloomfield topped Rockford 66-63. On the other end of the bracket, Hartland defeated Wayne Memorial 52-42. In the championship game, West Bloomfield edged an excellent Hartland squad by a score of 51-42. I’m going to name a Most Outstanding Player and Honorable Mentions for the Division 1 Final 4.

<h2>HONORABLE MENTIONS</h2>

Davis was steady and solid in the Final 4. She averaged 12.5 points per game, 5.5 rebounds per game and 2 steals per game. Davis added a key 6 assists in the semifinals.

Ham was solid in the semifinals. She came 1 point away from a double-double, finishing with 9 points and 11 rebounds. She also added 3 assists. Ham showed off her versatility, influencing the game in so many ways.
<strong>[player_tooltip player_id="188581" first="Sydney" last="Hendrix"] (2023, F, West Bloomfield)</strong>
Hendrix was a monster in the final 2 games. She controlled the lane in both games, battling her way to 2 double-double outings. In the semis she had 10 points and 10 rebounds, while in the title game she scored 12 points and grabbed 13 rebounds.

Lappin can be very proud of the way she showed up to play at the Final 4. In the semis, she had a double-double with 13 points and 11 boards. She struggled a bit with her shot in the title game, but found other ways to positively influence her team by grabbing 7 rebounds and getting 2 steals.

Lyons had a huge semifinal game. She shot 5-12 from behind the arc on her way to a 21 point game. Lyons didn’t just shoot though. She also found other scorers, racking up 6 assists.

Roach has a reputation as a warrior on the basketball court and she was just that in the Final 4. She led her team offensively, averaging 18.5 points per game in the final 2 contests. Roach also brought energy to the defensive end.
<h2>MOST OUTSTANDING PLAYER</h2>

Davis not only helped her team win a state championship, but she sent a big message to the entire midwest. The message being that this could just be the beginning. The star guard is just a sophomore and the best is yet to come. In the Final 4, Davis averaged 20.5 points per game and 9.5 rebounds per game. She was so dynamic offensively, but she did in the most efficient of manners. In the last 2 games, she shot the ball at 47% from the field. Davis came up huge, especially in the title game, finishing it with 17 point and 11 rebound double-double. The truly scary thing is that all 3 of the West Bloomfield players that made this list are all returning next year.
