D1 Regional Final Predictions

We are in the heart of the playoffs. Every team left is talented and hungry for a trip to the Breslin Center. I’m going to give you my Division 1 regional finals predictions. <h3>REGIONAL 7 AT WEST BLOOMFIELD</h3> Grosse Pointe North vs. West Bloomfield Prediction: West Bloomfield Why? West Bloomfield could be considered a prohibitive favorite in D1. They are supremely talented at every position with stars like <strong>[player_tooltip player_id="147731" first="Myonna" last="Hooper"]</strong>, <strong>[player_tooltip player_id="188581" first="Sydney" last="Hendrix"]</strong>, <strong>[player_tooltip player_id="244267" first="Summer" last="Davis"]</strong>, and <strong>[player_tooltip player_id="244266" first="Indya" last="Davis"]</strong>. It’s tough to find a weakness. <h3>REGIONAL 8 AT TROY ATHENS</h3> Troy vs. Macomb L’Anse Creuse North Prediction: Macomb L’Anse Creuse North Why? LCN’s speed and explosiveness on the perimeter, featuring <strong>[player_tooltip player_id="147747" first="Brooke" last="Daniels"]</strong> is so tough to stop. They have physicality and toughness to go with it with players like <strong>[player_tooltip player_id="361054" first="Jekiah" last="Mack"]</strong>. Watch out for Troy’s <strong>[player_tooltip player_id="147734" first="Kendal" last="Zeiter"]</strong>. I don’t think there’s many, if any, forwards playing better basketball right now. <h3>REGIONAL 3 AT BYRON CENTER</h3> Rockford vs. Hudsonville Prediction: Hudsonville Why? Hudsonville just has so many skilled veterans that are willing to play whatever role is needed at a particular time. <strong>[player_tooltip player_id="147728" first="Alaina" last="Diaz"] </strong>and <strong>[player_tooltip player_id="188564" first="Maddie" last="Petroelje"] </strong>are shining examples of this. <h3>REGIONAL 4 AT MATTAWAN</h3> Battle Creek Lakeview vs. East Lansing Prediction: East Lansing Why? I just really like the way that East Lansing plays together. They are a true team, led by underrated superstar <strong>[player_tooltip player_id="147776" first="Ella" last="Miller"]</strong>. <h3>REGIONAL 1 AT MIDLAND</h3> Midland Dow vs. Grand Blanc Prediction: Midland Dow Why? Midland Dow is so disciplined on both ends of the floor. Their offensive efficiency is terrific. <strong>[player_tooltip player_id="186364" first="Alexandra" last="Kolnitys"]</strong> had a Miss Basketball type of season running the point for Dow this season. <h3>REGIONAL 2 AT FENTON</h3> Clarkston vs. Hartland Prediction: Hartland Why? It seems like they have a bakers dozen of hard nosed, strong, and physical guards like <strong>[player_tooltip player_id="147739" first="Amanda" last="Roach"] </strong>and <strong>[player_tooltip player_id="147741" first="Gracey" last="Metz"]</strong>. This game was tough to pick however, with <strong>[player_tooltip player_id="147767" first="Madison" last="Skorupski"] </strong>shooting the lights out all season. <h3>REGIONAL 5 AT YPSILANTI LINCOLN</h3> Brighton vs. Wayne Memorial Prediction: Wayne Memorial Why? Athleticism. Wayne Memorial is just stacked with terrific athletes like <strong>[player_tooltip player_id="277635" first="Davai" last="Matthews"]</strong>, <strong>[player_tooltip player_id="188584" first="Mayla" last="Ham"]</strong>, and <strong>[player_tooltip player_id="307483" first="Paris" last="Bass"]</strong>. Each of those 3 players carries a tremendous amount of versatility and are very tough matchups. Wayne Memorial should be considered a very real title contender. Watch out for Brighton’s <strong>[player_tooltip player_id="190706" first="Mary" last="Copple"] </strong>though, because her shooting can help her team overcome a lot of obstacles. <h3>REGIONAL 6 AT DEARBORN</h3> Riverview vs. Dearborn Divine Child Prediction: Riverview Why? Two words: <strong>[player_tooltip player_id="230784" first="Elyssa" last="Kincaid"]</strong>. She’s having a season for the ages and it just feels like she’s not done yet. The walking double-double machine helps add another trophy to the shelf. Divine Child’s <strong>[player_tooltip player_id="189288" first="Kennedy" last="Blair"] </strong>and her elite perimeter game is the X factor.
