<span style="font-size: 14pt;"><strong>Seven 2024 Newcomers You Need to Know</strong></span>
Sometimes it takes one great performance at the right time, other times something just clicks in a player. Every time it's hard work put into improving your game. Here are seven players that went from unranked to ranked during the season.

Breasia has the size and strength to dominate at the high school level. She takes up space and is effective rebounding without really jumping that high or at all.
<strong>[player_tooltip player_id="393117" first="Alira" last="Penn"] - 5'9" - Shooting Guard - Concordia Prep #37</strong>
<img class="alignnone size-medium wp-image-384792" src="https://prephoops-uploads.s3.amazonaws.com/pgh/uploads/2022/02/DSC_0042-300x199.jpg" alt="" width="300" height="199" />
Alira has spurts of a high level shooting guard. She can show an explosive first step and elevation but appears winded early in games. Improving her conditioning would help her all-around game on both ends and could thrust her to a top 15 player in the state.
<strong>[player_tooltip player_id="394049" first="Kasey" last="Slade"] - 5'11" - Center - Chesapeake #69</strong>
<img class="alignnone size-medium wp-image-384779" src="https://prephoops-uploads.s3.amazonaws.com/pgh/uploads/2022/02/DSC_0067-300x199.jpg" alt="" width="300" height="199" />
Kasey adds value on the defensive end with her ability to cover multiple positions on the defensive end. She draws contact with physical play and is a pretty good free throw shooter.
<strong>[player_tooltip player_id="377213" first="Ava" last="O’Neil"] - 5'6" - Point Guard - St. John’s College #32</strong>
Ava is a solid pure point guard that plays within the scheme of the system. Her shot is good enough to be a considerable threat from outside if she is open enough to get it off. She has accurate passing and doesn't play outside her skillset limiting her turnovers.
<strong>[player_tooltip player_id="393099" first="Kamora" last="Morgan"] - 6'0" - Wing - National Christian #33 Academy</strong>
Kamora has good wing size at 6’0" and is a solid defensive player. She has three-point range, her 17-point game against FCA put her on the rankings map.
<strong>[player_tooltip player_id="393080" first="Samantha" last="McKenzie"] - 5'9" - Center - Takoma Academy #67</strong>
Playing center and being listed at center 5’9" McKenzie would be considered undersized for the position. She, however, plays above six feet rebounding and finishing by the basket. McKenzie has good hands catching the ball with a body draped over her and gets her shots up quickly to avoid the blocked shot.
<strong>[player_tooltip player_id="393077" first="Kennedy" last="James"] - 5'6" - Combo Guard - Bishop McNamara #59</strong>
James can play both guard positions and is a good three-point shooter. She had spot minutes for a talented and guard heavy Mustangs team but should be one of the key cogs next season. She has already shown the talent to compete at the highest level.
