We saw the final 3A quarterfinal, all of the 4A quarterfinals, and two of the 2A quarterfinals. Below, we take a look at the 10 players that stood out the most today in the first day of action.

Panorama | 2022
State
IA
– 2022 – 5’7 PG – Panorama
Beckman was outstanding in Panorama’s win today. It always seemed like she came through with a basket when her team needed one the most. Beckman is a very high IQ player who gets herself into good position to make plays. She scored 20 points today and iced the game at the line late. She’s a really quick guard full of skill and utilizes it well.

Benton | 2024

IA
– 2022 – 5’7 G – Benton
Kramer came out on a mission today as she was hitting shots from behind the arc at a high rate. Kramer was 6-for-13 from behind the arc and ended up tying a 4A State Tournament record with six 3-pointers. She’s a really good shooter who is ready to shoot the ball when it is dished off to her. I thought that she was a big reason that Benton kept it close until the fourth quarter.
Ella Lampe

Dallas Center-Grimes | 2022
State
IA
– 2022 – 5’8 PG – Dallas Center-Grimes
Lampe is a do-it-all guard who is a really good on ball defender. I thought that she did an excellent job today defending the ball without fouling. While she is an excellent defender you cannot look past her success on the offensive end. She poured in a quiet 15 points on an efficient 6-of-9 from the field. Lampe also had three assists and no turnovers in the game today.
Libby Fandel

Cedar Rapids Xavier | 2025
State
IA
– 2025 – 6’0 SG – Xavier
Fandel is such a mismatch on the court with her length and skill. She’s a 6’0 guard who can run an offense very effectively. She had 12 points and five assists on the offensive end today and it seemed like the game came easy to her at times. She also nabbed four steals using her length on the defensive end of the floor. One of the top freshmen in the state with her measurables.
Allie Meadows

Meadows

Central DeWitt | 2022
State
IA
– 2022 – 5’8 SG – Central DeWitt
Meadows had a really solid end to her high school career as she scored 18 points in a tough loss to Xavier. I thought that whenever Central DeWitt needed a basket Meadows was able to step up. She had three assists in the game against just one turnover which was excellent against the tough Xavier pressing defense. Meadows just always seems to play under control. Western Illinois commit.
Mia Miller

Miller

Bondurant-Farrar | 2022
State
IA
– 2022 – 5’5 PG – Bondurant-Farrar
Miller had a great game as she was able to help her team get off to a big lead and then almost comeback and pull off the upset win. She has great court vision with the ball in her hands as she dished off seven assists. Miller was also able to score a bit with 13 points and a few really nice drives to the basket. She brings a spark of energy on the floor and is always trying to make a play. Dubuque commit.
Jenna Hopp

Glenwood | 2023
State
IA
– 2023 – 5’11 SG – Glenwood
Hopp struggled from the floor at times this afternoon but came through on the defensive end when her team needed her. Very solid all around game for the junior as she scored 18 points but also had six steals and five assists. She only had one turnover in the game as she played all 32 minutes. Hopp is a player who makes her teammates around her better and is not afraid to get into the paint and defend. South Dakota State commit.
Madison Camden

Camden

Glenwood | 2022
State
IA
– 2022 – 5’8 SG – Glenwood
Camden is a player who goes about her business quietly. She just flat out makes plays and has the ability to turn it on at anytime. She tied Hopp with 18 points in the game and was a very efficient 5-of-11 from the floor including three 3-pointers. Camden is a complete player as she holds the ability to make an impact on both ends of the floor like she did today. Added on three steals and three assists in the win. Peru State commit.
Abby Hughes – 2022 – 5’9 G – Glenwood
Hughes is a really solid player for this Glenwood team who probably doesn’t get the recognition that she deserves. Hughes scored 17 points today and had a put back bucket off of a missed free throw that really put the game away. Very smart player who has some length that disrupts opposing offenses. She’s a really good teammate and you can tell that the other players really rally around her. South Dakota State track commit

Stanley

Bishop Heelan | 2024
State
IA
– 2024 – 5’8 PG – Bishop Heelan
Stanley was just flat out dominant today in the game against Waverly-Shell Rock. I think that she had the best day of anyone in the first two days of the state tournament as she had 23 points on 10-of-14 shooting and added in four steals. She was always in the right spot to grab a rebound or to get a steal. She is always around the ball and took extremely good care of it. She was a big reason that Bishop Heelan raced out to a win.
