Some of the young players haven’t even set foot on a high school basketball court, but have the skill and talent to play with 9th graders who have completed a season of basketball on various JV and Varsity teams. Some 8th graders had the talent and opportunity to play on Varsity as an 8th grader. Some not only played on Varsity, but started and excelled on the Varsity team as an 8th grader.
Alanna Tatum Alanna Tatum 5'6" | PG University Christian | 2026 State FL (ECU Family 2025). After watching Tatum play Varsity basketball at a high level as an 8th grader, nothing that she does comes as a surprise. She started at point guard on a University Christian team that won the district, Won Regionals, and made it to the final 4 in Florida’s 2A Basketball State playoffs. Tatum played very well at Apache memorial and did a good job of running the point. Given that responsibility on a 9th grade team speaks volumes alone. Tatum’s composure in the face of pressure has been impressive She faced full court presses, half court presses and did a great job of handling the ball. On the defensive end Tatum is special. Her ability to stay in front of the ball handler is “next level.” She is also good in transition defense and usually blocks about two to three layup attempts per game. Offensively Tatum doesn’t force the issue, but she can score the ball, especially in the midrange area. She has a nice running floater and quick step to the rim on drives. Tatum can also knock it down from the long range, but she is at her best in the midrange area. Tatum also rebounds well from the guard position. Tatum is a special talent. She is one of the best 2026 players in the State of Florida
Aubrey Satterfield Aubrey Satterfield 5'8" | SG West Orange | 2026 State FL ( J Sizzle – Jalen Suggs Team 15U). Satterfield can handle that rock! That was the first impression. She can go left, go right down the middle, and anywhere on the court she wants to. Her demeanor on the court shouts “confidence.” On every possession, you know who is running the offense and she does a good job of distributing the ball to her teammates. Satterfield can also create for herself. One play that comes to mind is a penetration to to the middle with the left hand and a spin back to the right ( while in the paint), and a finish with the right hand. Her pull-up jumper is very good and she can shoot the long ball at a high rate. Satterfield is quick on the court and uses it on the defensive end as well. She plays solid defense on the ball and also on help defense. Satterfield made some real nice steals getting back on defense. She does a good job of getting back on defense and disrupting the opponents fast break opportunities.
Senaia Asanya (J Sizzle – Jalen Suggs 15U) Asanya does a good job anchoring the defense in the middle and can guard inside the point. A few times she did a good job of covering out in space as well. Offensively, from free throw in, she looked real smooth taking the jumper. Asanya also showed some good footwork when maneuvering in the paint to get her shot off. She does a good job of sealing of the defender and getting good position for the entry pass.
Ash Young (Tre Mann Elite 2025 ) I was really impressed at Young’s talent, especially her decision making on the floor. She consistently made good reads on the offensive and took shots in the flow of the game. She has a nice shooting form and looked comfortable shooting the three. She had the ability to also put the ball on the floor and drive, shoot floaters, and stop and pop from midrange. Defensively she did a good job of getting steals along with her teammates . As a team they really get after it on the press and Young does her part. Her length alows her to play the passing lanes well and secure a lot of steals.
