For the third consecutive year, I traveled to North Central Indiana and Warsaw Community High School to take in LBI’s April Showers event. This event is regularly loaded with the best programs out of Michigan, in addition to other teams like Sports City U, Example Sports, Always 100 , plus this year the Gym Rats 17U EYBL group, the top Indiana Elite 17U & 16U squads, the Indiana Blaze 16U team, and many more. I am still seeking out specific teams to see this Spring, so while I didn’t see everyone this past weekend, I did see a number of teams play. To follow are a handful of prospects who stood out in what I was able to see.

– Taylor is an Indiana native who transferred from Northeastern High School to Talawanda this past season. She was consistently a Top-10 kid in Indiana’s 2023 class, and she showed that same skill/ability this past weekend. She has an athletically strong frame, she moves well in all directions, and she has a natural feel for the game. She sees the floor well, consistently finds open teammates, but she can also get through contact and finish around the basket or bury 25-footers when in rhythm.

– This was my first time seeing Indya, and she was absolutely impressive in what I saw. She is a walking bucket who can fill it up from all over the floor. She is long, strong, and explosive North/South, and she is a fierce attacker of the paint. She gets downhill quickly, can change directions, and will elevate and finish over, around, and through defenders from all angles. And if you protect the driving lanes, she’ll calmly knock down rhythm jumpers outside. Her motor is something to behold.

, 2024, 6-1 C, Benton Central H.S.
– For those who appreciate defense, Sarah is one of the best backend defenders I have seen in a while. She is tremendous at rotating to “help”, “walling up”, and not drawing fouls, while still being able to block/alter shots around the basket. Additionally, her matchup rarely scores on her, and she does a nice job of stepping out on ball-screens and defending the perimeter well-enough for her teammates to recover. Offensively, her touch has improved in the mid-post, and she’s finishing consistently inside.

– Faith always flashed great potential, and as she’s finishing growing, you can see her figuring out her physical makeup. She is extremely long, fluidly athletic, and she’s noticeable stronger and an inch or two taller than a year ago. She is extremely active at both ends of the floor, and she possesses good face-up skill. She can knock down an open rhythm jumper, she takes care of the ball around the perimeter, but she’s also playing with more physicality inside of 10-feet. This could be a big Spring for her.

, 2025, 5-10 SG, Evansville Memorial H.S.
– Myla is a long, fluid, versatile guard who does a little of everything well. She can handle it a little and initiate the offense or create for teammates, she can attack the basket, change directions, and score inside, and she can knock down the occasional perimeter jumper when in rhythm. She rebounds her position well and tries to be physical inside the paint, and she has really worked on being a better defender. She does a nice job of using her length to really bother opponents, both on and off the ball.

, 2025, 6-3 SF, Hamilton Southeastern H.S.
– When I was able to see Maya this past weekend, she was in rhythm every time, burying shot after shot from the perimeter. She has great height and length, she’s a fluid athlete, but as she has gotten stronger, she has elevated her shot-pocket and quickened up her release. Someone 6-3 who gets rid of it that quickly is difficult for anyone to defend, whether you’re a shorter, quicker guard, or a taller, slower forward. Next for Maya is to become a well-rounded scorer at all levels, because she has the talent.
Aniyah McKenzie, 2026, 6-0 SF/PF, Lawrence Central H.S.
– Aniyah looks taller and so much stronger than a year ago, and if you didn’t know how old she was, you’d likely guess Junior or Senior. She has a strong, athletic frame, plus she moves well in all directions. She can defend wings, forwards, and she can even handle the occasional guard for a few seconds here and there. Offensively, she has worked on her handle, and she is great attacking the basket. A consistent perimeter jumper will solidify her as a high-level wing, because she has a great deal of ability.
