Tiyara Gonzalez Tiyara Gonzalez 5'0" | PG St. Raphael Academy | 2026 State NewE | Team Providence| 5’0’’| PG| ‘26
Gonzalez is a blur with the ball in her hands and destroyed the competition going coast-to-coast last Friday. Her speed, quickness, and low center of gravity make it challenging to stay in front of Gonzalez, and she had a few creative finishes in transition. Once Gonzalez broke downhill, there was nothing the defense could do, and more impressively, Gonzalez’s body control while driving was excellent. She protects the ball well and is not proline to turnovers.
Amilyan Treadwell Amilyan Treadwell 5'10" | PF Holyoke | 2024 State NewE | Holyoke |5’10’’| PF| ’24
Although undersized, Treadwell held her own in the post and found ways to get her shot off with good footwork and pump fakes. She was strong, played through contact, and finished consistently under the basket. I also liked her activity on the glass. She racked up several offensive rebounds and scored most of her points off second-chance opportunities.
Sarafina DiPaola Sarafina DiPaola 5'8" | PG North Salem | 2024 State NewE | North Salem | 5’8’’| PG| ’24
I like DiPaola’s decision-making and offensive IQ. She passed the ball well and showed patience in the halfcourt throughout the event. Her post-entry passes were what stood out the most. DiPaola always tried to find the right angle and had good ball placement on the passes. She is also an athletic guard who showed her speed on transition defense. DiPaola also can stretch the floor with three-point shooting.
Laura Biagiotti Laura Biagiotti 5'8" | CG Watertown | 2024 State NewE | Watertown| 5’9’’| SG| ’24
Biagiotti’s game is so smooth and is a mismatch on the wing because she is a lefty with good upper body strength. Biagiotti attacked the middle hard and used her body well to initiate contact. She doesn’t use a lot of dribbles to get to spots, either. Biagiotti utilizes the mid-range well and will rise over defenders and knock down jump shots efficiently.
Jordan Niles Jordan Niles 5'5" | PG Brewster High | 2024 State NewE | Brewster High| 5’5’’| PG| ’24
Niles was another aggressive slashing lefty who made a living getting to the basket at the showcase. Her power and explosion when going around and through defenders were eye-popping, and Niles finished strong over bigger forwards in the lane. In the open court, Niles was effective also. Her crossover and change of direction in transition kept the defense off-balance in pursuit of the basket.
Siena Schaller Siena Schaller 5'7" | CG Valley Regional | 2023 State NewE | Valley Regional| 5’8’’| CG| ’23
Schaller impressed me with her defensive prowess. She was engaged on that side of the ball all showcase long and caused a commotion in passing lanes. She made good use of her long wingspan by getting in passing lanes quickly and deflecting the basketball. Schaller interrupted the rhythm of post players with timely digs and was hustling for 50/50 balls.
Janiah Perez Janiah Perez 5'7" | PG Kolbe Cathedral | 2023 State NewE | Kolbe Cathedral | 5’5’’| PG | ’23
Perez’s offensive package is pretty complete. She has a tight handle, keeps the ball on a string, is extremely quick when changing direction, gets into the second level easily, and is a good shooter. What stood out the most about Perez was her aggression on the offensive glass. She relentlessly crashes whenever her or her teammate’s shot goes up, and Perez kept many possessions alive with strong boards.
London Powell London Powell 5'5" | PG Greens Farms Academy | 2026 State NewE | CT Elite Basketball| 5’5’’| CG| ’26
Powell had zero issues getting by her defender on the wing, and I liked her scoring confidence when slashing. With either hand, Powell can get past her opponent and into the teeth of the defense. I can see the growth and development in Powell’s game from the last time I watched her play in November. She looks bigger, faster, and most importantly, she asserts herself on offense and takes full advantage of mismatches on the perimeter.
Rebecca Chory Rebecca Chory 6'0" | PF Immaculate | 2024 State NewE | Immaculate| 6’0’’| PF| ’24
Chory quietly put together a solid showing last Friday and was one of the few participants who made an impact in the mid-range. Her shooting touch is soft, and Chory nailed a few 15-foot jumpers throughout her day. She also uses her size well underneath and consistently battled for rebounds.
Megan Iasevoli Megan Iasevoli 5'6" | PG Wolcott | 2024 State NewE | Wolcott| 5’7’’| PG |’24
Iasevoli is a crafty lefty guard who plays with pace and is under control. She was very stealthy when attacking and never tried to force the issue. Iasevoli takes what the defense gives her and emphasizes making the right play. She also showed her range and can extend beyond the three-point line and make defenses pay.
