Many Florida teams traveled to Charlotte, NC to compete in the Apache Memorial Showcase. It was the first College Live period of the season. Players from ECU, J Sizzle, OTOD, Tre Mann Elite, etc. participated in the showcase which was the first College Live tournament of the AAU season. The tournament was at various locations in Charlotte. Below are some of the Florida players who stood out on Day One. [player_tooltip player_id="166170" first="Alonya" last="Waldon"] CG (ECU FAMILY 2023) Waldon played lights out on day 1. She was aggressive on defense stealing the ball and taking it back for the layup. She did this 3 or 4 times in the Friday night game. Waldron showed a lot of versatily, playing both guard positions, depending on the personnel on the floor. Waldon had the long ball working on Day knocking down 3 three pointers and scoring 17 points. [player_tooltip player_id="248886" first="Janiya" last="Johnson"], SG (DME 2023) Johnson shot the ball well on Day 1 of Apache Memorial. She started out sizzling early with 13 first half points. Johnson can shoot the ball. She has a good midrange game and can knock down the open three. She is also a good on ball defender and has a good grasp of what her team does offensively. [player_tooltip player_id="352604" first="Xaniya" last="Jackson"], F/C (OTOD 2023). Jackson had a great Day 1 of the tournament. She turned heads and even garnered a scholarship offer after her performance. Jackson scored 18 points pulled down 10 rebounds and added 5 blocked shots and 3 steals. Jackson is a dominant player on the inside but does have success in the midrange area as well. She plays with a lot of heart and energy and leads by example on the court. [player_tooltip player_id="217663" first="Sydney" last="Roundtree"], F (ECU FAMILY 2024). Roundtree was on the attack and just had her way on Day 1 of the Apachee Memorial. Roundtree scored early and often and help pace her team to an easy victory. Roundtree is lengthy and athletic and flourishes in the transition game where she can use her speed and very good court vision. [player_tooltip player_id="248345" first="Clare" last="Coyle"], F (ECU FAMILY 2024) was a standout on Day 1 and she just played her usual game of hustling from beginning to. Coyle does a great job of rebounding on both sides of the ball. She runs the floor like a guard and always gets easy buckets in transition vas a result. She stood out on Day 1 of the Apache Memorial. [player_tooltip player_id="349278" first="Aniyah" last="Fisher"] F (ECU CLARKE 2024 ) showed a lot of versatility on Day 1. Fisher can handle the ball and is a huge asset in press break. She can score at all levels on the court. Fisher made several threes on Day 1 and was a force when taking the ball to the basket. Fisher also anchors the press and is masterful at anticipating the pass from the opposition. She routinely records 3 to 5 steals per game. Kaitlynn Weaver (ECU CLARKE 2024). Weaver had a good day on the offensive end and defensive ends of the court. She is tall and lengthy. She can shoot it from long range and also in the mid range area. Has a very high release on her jump shot and a quick release. Weaver also does a good job on defense and can defend on the wing and in the paint. Weaver also recorded a few blocked shots on Day 1. Trendy Harris PG (Tre Man Elite 2025). Harris was impressive on Day 1 of Apache Memorial in Charlotte NC. Harris is a dynamic guard and she really is in her element in the open court in transition. She has good handles and can take the ball to rim and knows how to finish. Harris rebounds well from her guard position and scored several off of the offensive rebound. Jiyah Hamilton, G (Tre Mann Elite 2025). Hamilton really attacks the basket well and packs a punch when she attacks the basket. She can playthrough physical contact and attacks the rim with and knows how to finish. She packs a lot of power in a 5’1 frame. Hamilton can shoot the three and can shoot it in clutch situations. Ash Young, G (Tre Mann Elite 2025) was really smooth out there on the court and played some great defense. Defense seems to be the criteria for guards on this team as all of them can get after it on the defensive end. Young is long and lengthy She can shoot the ball at all three levels of the court and has a natural feel for the game. Offensively, she can shoot off the dribble but can also create for herself Made a real nice pump fake on the three pointer and finished with a baseline floater.
