We released an updated ranking for the class of 2023 this week. Let’s take a look at some of the class of 2023 Newcomers!
You can take a look at the Class of 2023 Rankings HERE:
Letycia Vasconcelos Letycia Vasconcelos 6'7" | C Montverde Academy | 2023 State FL (Montverde Academy / Essence) 6’7 Center
Overall Rank: 10
Vasconcelos goes from unranked into the top 10 as she transferred to Montverde Academy. The 6’7 post is a big presence in the paint and has big time potential. She is a highly recruited prospect by the who’s who of college coaches and we wrote about her in our Top 10 article earlier in the week. Check it out!
Fenishka Bertho Fenishka Bertho 6'3" | PF North Miami | 2023 State FL (North Miami / Team Knight) 6’3 Forward
Overall Rank: 54
Bertho shot a high percent from the field (61%) and averaged 18 points a game for North Miami. She is one of the top ranked back to the basket post players due to her size and solid finishing ability. She utilizes her body, mass, size and strength well in the paint to finish vs contact and to be an impact rebounder.
Konstantina Mantziori Konstantina Mantziori 5'6" | PG Cardinal Gibbons | 2023 State FL (Cardinal Gibbons / G Nation) 5’6 Guard
Overall Rank: 65
Mantziori had a solid season for Cardinal Gibbons, establishing herself as one of the top perimeter players in Broward County. She has a well-rounded game with the ability to handle the ball, knock down open shots, finish at the rim, and get down in a defensive position and guard. She has a high ceiling and Prep Girls Hoop Florida write Michael Costeines, who covers South Florida, wrote about her earlier in the week for Players to Watch Outside the Top 50.
Taniya Brown Taniya Brown 5'7" | PF West Orange HS | 2023 State FL (West Orange HS) 5’7 Forward
Overall Rank: 110
We got a chance to see Brown at the Polk County Hoopfest, where she was a major force in the paint and on the boards despite being an undersized forward at 5’7. She plays hard, aggressive, physical and bigger than her size.
Alexia Sanchez Alexia Sanchez 5'5" | PG Doral Academy | 2023 State FL (Doral Academy) 5’5 Point Guard
Overall Rank: 115
Sanchez was one of the top performers at the 2021 New Years Classic and the 2022 Polk County Hoopfest, pacing Doral Academy in scoring. At 5’5, she is a dynamic playmaker, who has solid open court moves, does a good job staying on the attack, and is an aggressive defender.
Ana Sophia Sanchez Ana Sophia Sanchez 5'4" | CG Lourdes Academy | 2023 State FL (Lourdes Academy) 5’4 Guard
Overall Rank: 118
We got a chance to see Ana Sophia Sanchez Ana Sophia Sanchez 5'4" | CG Lourdes Academy | 2023 State FL at the 2022 New Years Classic where she showcased her ability to handle the ball, run the point guard position and let it fly knocking down open 3s. Lourdes Academy teams are always highly skilled, play good team basketball, make the extra pass, and knock down open shots and Sanchez is a perfect fit in the system and should be their go to player next year.
Kamiya Jones Kamiya Jones 5'6" | SG Oakleaf | 2023 State FL (Oakleaf HS / FGB) 5’6 Guard
Overall Rank: 126
Jones was a catalyst for Oakleaf’s continued success despite the transfer of Taliah Scott Taliah Scott 5'8" | SG St. John's Country Day | 2023 State #31 Nation FL . She helped lead them to district title for the second year in a row with her impressive 3-point range, crafty finishing ability at the rim, and solid handle.
