Alexis Bordas Alexis Bordas 5'8" | SG Wheeling Park | 2025 State WV , WV Thunder 15u UAA, SG, 5-9 – Every aspect of Bordas’ game was shaking and baking in the game I got to watch. She flashed different scoring options from deep to regular 3s, the ability to drive right down the lane and make the smart lay-up choice, along with the option to drive and finish through contact or then make her free throws. She was also pulling down boards, passing to open teammates in the open court, and being a menace on help defense with constant pressure that led to several steals.
Addie Adkins Addie Adkins 5'11" | PF Wayne | 2025 State WV , WV Thunder 15u UAA, PF, 5-11 – For the second weekend in a row, Addie Adkins Addie Adkins 5'11" | PF Wayne | 2025 State WV was one of my favorite players on the floor. Evidently, her confidence grew by the week. This time she used a laundry list of different accomplishments to stand out, once again. Thanks to a more consistent 3-point shot, stellar vision getting her teammates open for buckets, and her always tough defense locking down opponents, she showed more reasons why Wayne owns a treasure trove of talent in the sophomore clause.
Dria Parker Dria Parker 5'10" | SF Spring Valley | 2025 State WV , WV Thunder 15u UAA, SG-SF, 5-10 – Parker, a smart player, showed off her adaptability in the face of playing with a new team in the game I watched. She seamlessly blended her game with the top Dragons’ sophomore unit featuring the top 3 2025 players on the West Virginia rankings. Really. There was zero friction. In fact, she raised her game higher. Knowing she was surrounded by shooters, Parker often took control of the ball at the key only for a dribble, drive and kick to her teammates. That unselfish action often led to points. And then when it was her turn to step up, she knocked down big 3s, before going back on defense.
Sophie Nichols Sophie Nichols 5'11" | SG Ripley | 2024 State WV , WV Thunder 16u Rise, SF, 5-11 – I may get in trouble for writing about Adkins and Nichols for the second time in as many weekends, but Sophie did it again. When the stakes mattered, she stepped up. When her team needed her, she soared. On a day when her group played up a level, she raised her game even higher. By scoring 22 points and playing awesome D, she helped the Thunder stifle Team Takeover’s SHOWCASE group.
Ohio Valley Dragons
Hannah Stemple Hannah Stemple 5'5" | SG University | 2025 State WV , OV Dragons 15u, SG, 5-5 – I had heard Stemple could get hot from the 3-point line, but I hadn’t seen it for myself. That changed Sunday, and boy were the reports accurate. It really was a spectacle. She erupted in the second half with her silver headband blazing. The first shot left her hands and swished through. By the time everything was done, she hit shots all around the arc and totaled 22 points in the game.
Addie Davis, OV Dragons 15u, G-F, 5-8 – St. Marys’ strong and unrelenting point guard kicked her game up another level as she played on the top Dragons’ unit in Charlotte. Forced out of the point guard role because of the remarkable job done by Kamryn Barnitz Kamryn Barnitz 5'6" | CG Fairland | 2025 State OH , Davis adjusted her game with a serious of dribble drives, penetrations and pump fakes that created confusion for defenders and opportunities for teammates. Similar to the Thunder’s Parker, she also hit her shots and found her teammates after drawing in defenders, too. It was the third straight tournament she revealed new pieces to her game.
Kamryn Barnitz Kamryn Barnitz 5'6" | CG Fairland | 2025 State OH , OV Dragons 15u, CG, 5-7 – The kid continues to be one of the best players in the organization. Just this past weekend, she really showed her game extended beyond her leadership at the point guard position. Not only did she facilitate an offense filled with several newcomers when needed, but she went on several scoring streaks. Those binges included some ridiculous 3-point shots well beyond the high school arc and some great drives down the lane that split defenders. There’s no way Barnitz will be ranked at the No. 17 spot when the next freshman rankings come out on prepgirlshoops.com Ohio.
WPA Bruins
LaLa Woods, WPA Bruins 2025 UAA, PG, 5-6 – Woods might have been the smallest player on the floor when I watched, but she played with a big heart, and tough attitude. She hit several big 3s, but never hesitated driving into the lane for some big shots. She really helped her Bruins space the floor, thus opening up opportunities for other teammates, too.
NOTE: West Thunder 17u and 16u UAA teams were seen and written about by Kentucky scout Alyx White.
