Sticking with the Kansas and Nebraska teams, I tried to watch teams that I didn’t get to see a lot of yesterday and ended up finding a couple players from a non Kansas or Nebraska team that stood out before catching the 2026 Kansas team toward the end of the day. Let’s review my best from the day.
Tayler Reaves | 212 Basketball Academy | Guard | 5’7″ | Class of 2023
Reaves provides constant motion and a strong ability to put the ball in the basket for 212. She is persistent with moving around screens to release from her defender, and once she has the ball in her hands she showed multiple ways to score. Reaves has excellent ability to put the ball on the floor and attack the rim but also can light it up from beyond the arc. Defenders have to have a strong motor to keep up with Reaves and cannot give her the slightest bit of space or she will fill up the scoresheet.

Mia Boulton Mia Boulton 5'3" | SG Montezuma | 2023 State IA | 212 Basketball Academy | Guard | 5’5″ | Class of 2023
Boulton is a high IQ guard, who is a sniper from the deep. Boulton is great with the ball in her hands and always seems to make the right play. She does a fantastic job of movement without the ball and can find open spaces and be a hand down, man down shooter. Boulton displays a great attitude on the court and has all the qualities of a fantastic teammate. Boulton could be one to keep an eye on Iowa this year.

Deena Holmes | Kansas Bluejays 2026 | Forward/Center | 6’2″ | Class of 2026
With fantastic size and length, Holmes creates matchup problems for most opponents. She runs the floor well and knows how to get deep position in the paint for high percentage shot attempts. On the defensive side, she does a fantastic job getting long and altering or blocking shots. Holmes has pretty good footwork and as she develops her offensive package in the post, she could become a very sought after prospect in Kansas.
Chloe Hartzler | Kansas Bluejays 2026 | Guard | 5’3″ | Class of 2027
Passion and energy are two key attributes that I could see in Hartzler on Sunday. The Bluejays played a pretty tough opponent who stretched the lead to double digits, however Hartzler was not going down without a fight. She consistently attacked the defense and put pressure on them to touch her and not give space, as she was not afraid to put a shot up from anywhere on the court. Hartzler is able to handle the ball well and can penetrate or shoot with distance. The competitiveness alone will drive Hartzler to be better each game and could provide her an opportunity in the coming years to win a lot of games.
