Laila Abdurraqib Laila Abdurraqib 5'7" | PG Lawrence Central | 2025 State IN | 5’7″ | Class of 2025 | Indiana Blaze 16U
Abdurraqib was controlling the offense on one end and then turning around to bring all of the defensive intensity on the opposite end. She handles pressure well, has a ton of ball handling skills, and she really gets her teammates involved. She’s as quick with the ball as most people are without the ball. She also changes speeds seamlessly. Abdurraqib throws some jaw-dropping passes and she is a shooting threat. She makes good drives and is so smart about deciding when to kick it to a teammate versus when to take it herself.
Laken Williams Laken Williams 5'4" | PG Martin County | 2024 State KY | 5’5″ | Class of 2024 | OV Lady Dragons 2024 Red
Williams does a great job of adjusting to her teams’ needs in any given game. When her team needed her to score, she scored. When they needed her to facilitate the offense, she ran it well. She plays much bigger than she is on both sides of the court. She makes excellent moves, she can knock down outside shots, she can get all the way to the rim, and she finds the open players. Williams also did a great job at controlling the speed and tempo of the game.
Mara Mitchell Mara Mitchell 5'6" | SG Jackson Northwest | 2024 State MI | 5’6″ | Class of 2024 | MSF Flight 2024
Mitchell has all the skills you would want in a point guard. She has a high basketball IQ, good handles, she’s a competitor, and she plays with no fear. She can throw some absolute dimes, and she was throwing them through traffic just to make it even more impressive. She’s also got the speed and quickness. Mitchell handled pressure well, stayed composed, and switched up her moves in a way that made it tough it really tough on the defense to stay in front.
Avery Kelley Avery Kelley 5'6" | PG Evansville Memorial | 2024 State IN | 5’6″ | Class of 2024 | Pocket City Basketball 2024
Kelley almost instantly caught my eye because of her solid play at point. She has great speed and quickness, excellent handles, and she makes smart passes. She was throwing passes perfectly, even when she was throwing them the distance of the court. Kelley has a high motor and she can score inside or out. When she drives, she’s ready to kick it if help steps over, but she can also finish well with contact.
Maddie Nipper Maddie Nipper 5'5" | PG Charlestown | 2024 State IN | 5’5″ | Class of 2024 | IN Showcase 2024 Red
Nipper’s basketball IQ shines through when she plays. She’s got excellent speed with and without the ball and she simply does whatever she needs to do to help her team win. She consistently moves and makes cuts when the ball isn’t in her hands, and she does a great job finding the gaps on the floor. Nipper is also a scoring threat with the ability to knock down the 3 or score in a variety of ways inside or in the mid-range. She gets passes to the open players and she anticipates well.
