<p style="font-weight: 400;"><span style="font-weight: 400;">Here are more Northeast standouts from the Atlantic City Showcase. </span></p> &nbsp; <p style="font-weight: 400;"><strong>[player_tooltip player_id="437326" first="Sophia" last="Costello"]| Premier Basketball|5’5’’|PG|’23</strong></p> [caption id="attachment_437333" align="alignnone" width="300"]<a href="https://prephoops-uploads.s3.amazonaws.com/pgh/uploads/2022/05/3F11B295-8B8D-465F-BA22-728D64E209E8-crop-1440x946-1654011194.jpeg"><img class="size-medium wp-image-437333" src="https://prephoops-uploads.s3.amazonaws.com/pgh/uploads/2022/05/3F11B295-8B8D-465F-BA22-728D64E209E8-crop-1440x946-1654011194-300x197.jpeg" alt="" width="300" height="197" /></a> Photo: [player_tooltip player_id="355399" first="Anna" last="Kitch"][/caption] <p style="font-weight: 400;"><span style="font-weight: 400;">Costello’s energy and intensity on defense stood out to me initially. She was relentlessly in her opponent’s face and a ball hawk in lanes resulting in transition scoring opportunities for Premier Basketball. Costello has fast hands and was disrupting the opposition’s offensive rhythm constantly. She controlled the game’s pace, and although very speedy on the break, Costello still managed to slow herself down enough to change direction seamlessly, be dynamic and limit turnovers. </span></p> &nbsp; <p style="font-weight: 400;"><strong>[player_tooltip player_id="437327" first="Fiona" last="Kernaghan"]|Premier Basketball|5’11’’|SG|’23</strong></p> [caption id="attachment_437330" align="alignnone" width="300"]<a href="https://prephoops-uploads.s3.amazonaws.com/pgh/uploads/2022/05/0F73F57D-7F53-498E-8EE7-3E143BECB6BE-crop-1398x918-1654011124.jpeg"><img class="size-medium wp-image-437330" src="https://prephoops-uploads.s3.amazonaws.com/pgh/uploads/2022/05/0F73F57D-7F53-498E-8EE7-3E143BECB6BE-crop-1398x918-1654011124-300x197.jpeg" alt="" width="300" height="197" /></a> Photo: [player_tooltip player_id="355399" first="Anna" last="Kitch"][/caption] <p style="font-weight: 400;"><span style="font-weight: 400;">I liked Kernaghan’s offensive approach, and she did a good job getting downhill and into the defense in Atlantic City. She has an automatic mid-range stop and pop, knifes into the defense with a quick first step, and is a good contested finisher. Kernaghan is slithery and stealthy when slashing and has ideal size for the 2 making it easier for her to shoot over the top of the defense. </span></p> &nbsp; <p style="font-weight: 400;"><strong>[player_tooltip player_id="437312" first="Maddy" last="Steel"]|Honey Badgers|5’8’’|SG|’25</strong></p> <img class="alignnone size-medium wp-image-437313" src="https://prephoops-uploads.s3.amazonaws.com/pgh/uploads/2022/05/B6959C02-8F09-4E56-9400-9ADBD4006901-crop-1440x946-1654010658-300x197.jpeg" alt="" width="300" height="197" /> <p style="font-weight: 400;"><span style="font-weight: 400;">Steel is a sniper you cannot forget about on the perimeter. The lefty sharpshooter does a good job getting open and staying ready to fire from the outside. Most importantly, Steel moves with a purpose. Steel went full-speed to get to her spots and was always a threat, whether in the halfcourt or transition. </span></p> &nbsp; <p style="font-weight: 400;"><strong>[player_tooltip player_id="389884" first="Charlotte" last="Adams-Lopez"]|Honey Badgers|5’7’’|CG|’25</strong></p> <img class="alignnone size-medium wp-image-437308" src="https://prephoops-uploads.s3.amazonaws.com/pgh/uploads/2022/05/E888EB22-13A4-43E6-A31F-944F47662DD3-crop-1302x855-1654010504-300x197.jpeg" alt="" width="300" height="197" /> <p style="font-weight: 400;"><span style="font-weight: 400;">I like that Adams-Lopez can be impactful as an off-guard, stretch the floor with her outside shooting, and give the Honey Badgers minutes at the 1 if needed. She was under control on her drives and asserted herself when necessary in the halfcourt. I always liked Adams-Lopez’s defensive prowess. She has the size and versatility to defend both guard spots, and she gives high-level effort every possession. </span></p> &nbsp; <p style="font-weight: 400;"><strong>[player_tooltip player_id="413840" first="Clara" last="Strack"]|Exodus EYBL|6’4’’|PF|’23</strong></p> <img class="alignnone size-medium wp-image-437305" src="https://prephoops-uploads.s3.amazonaws.com/pgh/uploads/2022/05/EE4A4AF5-63AB-4C74-9703-9B7574445E9A-crop-1537x1010-1654010398-300x197.jpeg" alt="" width="300" height="197" /> <p style="font-weight: 400;"><span style="font-weight: 400;">Strack’s interior defense was sharp, and she made key plays for exodus down the stretch of their games. It wasn’t just her shot altering at the rim, but Strack was also very active in passing lanes disrupting many entry and perimeter passes. Her mobility and reaction time inside limited easy shot attempts for the offense, and she corralled rebounds that held the offense to one-and-done opportunities. </span></p> &nbsp; <p style="font-weight: 400;"><strong>[player_tooltip player_id="266709" first="Chloe" last="Richardson"]|MT Elite Ducks|5’8’’|SG|’23</strong></p> <img class="alignnone size-medium wp-image-437303" src="https://prephoops-uploads.s3.amazonaws.com/pgh/uploads/2022/05/8B83C4AA-0255-46FC-B22E-A8C58D715904-crop-1302x855-1654010342-300x197.jpeg" alt="" width="300" height="197" /> <p style="font-weight: 400;"><span style="font-weight: 400;">Richardson is one of the most dangerous threats behind the three-point line, and she proved that yet again in Atlantic City. You always have to locate Richardson because she needs little daylight to get her shot off and will bury them repeatedly. Richardson’s confidence to pull a long-distance shot from anywhere behind the line was apparent as she made hitting threes look easy throughout the weekend. </span></p> &nbsp; <p style="font-weight: 400;"><strong>[player_tooltip player_id="296751" first="Norah" last="Saluja"]|D4S|5’10’’|CG|’23</strong></p> <img class="alignnone size-medium wp-image-437301" src="https://prephoops-uploads.s3.amazonaws.com/pgh/uploads/2022/05/470B0521-47BC-4F3D-A2DA-74685DB00AAE-crop-1537x1010-1654010258-300x197.jpeg" alt="" width="300" height="197" /> <p style="font-weight: 400;"><span style="font-weight: 400;">Saluja did a good job controlling the tempo for D4S. From what I saw, Saluja was the primary playmaker, and she made good decisions with the ball. Going downhill is when I thought she was most deadly. Saluja’s ability to turn on the jets, explode towards the rim, and make impressive finishes with either hand was my biggest takeaway from watching her play in AC.</span></p>
