The Triumph Region Finals concluded that Sunday at the Upward Star Center in Spartanburg, South Carolina. It welcomed teams from the home state as well as from North Carolina, Tennessee, Alabama, Georgia, Kentucky and Florida. Kentucky-based Richmond Heat won the 17U and 15U championships while the 16U crown was claimed by Georgia-based Team Nite Nite 2024 and South Carolina-based Greenwood Storm 2026 prevailed against all comers.
Who were a few of the standouts who finished the weekend tournament with a flourish? Here are balled in the Palmetto State.
McKinley Brothers – 2025 – Mount Paran HS – FBC Blitz 2025 – Her travel team needed every single one of the 17 points she put up to lift FBC Blitz 2025 to a 58-54 victory over Wood Elite 2024 and a berth against Team Nite Nite 2024 in the 16U finals. She also has ran track throughout her athletic career and the traits she gets from that discipline can translate to the basketball court. Brothers plays lockdown defense on the perimeter and can switch on who she is guarding. Offensively, she is an at will scorer who is a threat to put the ball through the hoop regardless of where she is on the floor.
Joy Tchamabe – 2025 – River Ridge HS – FBC Blitz 2025 – Tchamabe competed in 27 games this past season for a Knights team that finished 28-2 in 2021-22 and one game shy of the 5A state semifinals. Among the shots that Tchamabe can connect on are floaters and free throws. She also plays with a high basketball IQ and uses her 5-foot-10 frame to come up big on the boards. Tchamabe tallied 12 points and only had one personal foul called against her as her scoring output helped FBC Blitz 2025 advance to the 16U championship game against another Georgia-based travel team in Team Nite Nite 2024.
Tamariana Cooper – 2026 – North Springs HS – FBC Blitz 2025 – Big time players step up in big time moments and Cooper stepped up when her FBC Blitz 2025 teammates needed her the most. Among the 10 points she scored in her team’s 58-54 16U semifinal victory over Wood Elite 2024 were two big free throws late that kept enough breathing room despite a late run by their opponents. In fact, eight of Cooper’s 10 points came courtesy of the charity stripe, meaning Cooper is not afraid of absorbing contact. She is also tough to contend with as a defender with her ability to frustrate opposing ball handlers, come through as a ball hawk and as do work as a shot blocker.
Caroline Mullins Caroline Mullins 5'9" | CG Pickens | 2024 State GA – 2024 – Pickens HS – Wood Elite 2024 – The rising star for the Dragonettes continues to up her stock. Mullins is a 5-foot-9 versatile combo guard who can play virtually any position on the floor. Her handles are indicative of that of most guards, but her height advantage makes her an asset in the paint. She knows when to pass and when to attack and is not afraid of absorbing contact which can place her at the free throw line. Out of the 54 points Wood Elite 2024 scored in its 16U semifinal contest against FBC Blitz 2025, she scored 24.
I’ziah McCutchins I’ziah McCutchins 5'3" | PG Trion | 2024 State GA – 2024 – Trion HS – Wood Elite 2024 – McCutchins is a multi-sport athlete who, in addition to thriving on the basketball court excels on the softball diamond in a state where softball is a Fall sport. The 3-pointers she shot were falling all game for the rising junior-to-be. She stepped up big in the second half of her team’s 16U semifinal matchup with FBC Blitz 2025 as she dropped 11 points in the second half. Out of those 11, nine came by way of 3-pointers. McCutchins runs the floor well in transition, displays impressive handles and is a hustler on both ends of the court.
Macy Spivey – 2026 – Rockcastle HS – Richmond Heat 2026 – The unofficial name of Richmond Heat 2026’s 14U semifinal tilt with Lady Empact 2026 was the Macy Spivey show. The team won 22-21, but Spivey had herself a banner game as she dropped 20 points en route to a championship game berth against Greenwood Storm 2026. Spivey has shined all Circuit long – including at the first Triumph Region event her team attended which was Knoxville Knockout in the middle part of April. She is teeming with upside and is poised to rise up Kentucky’s high school basketball ranks as her career continues to blossom.
Leanissa Swinton – 2025 – Wilson HS – Lady Sonics 2025 – Swinton poses many problems for opposing teams in the frontcourt and much of those begin with how good a rebounder she is. Even though one would particularly expect her to mostly play near the low post, she finds spacing in the open floor as well. If she has the ball near the rim, there is a good chance she will look to score and up her team’s point margin by two. Swinton is also versatile as a scorer with her 3-point shooting capabilities. She helped conclude Lady Sonics 2025’s time at the Triumph Region Finals in auspicious fashion as her 12 points led her team to a 37-27 win over Georgia-based One Step Away 2025.
Cheyenne Ashworth – 2025 – Cherokee HS – Wood Elite 2025 – Ashworth is one of five Warriors with spots on the Wood Elite 2025 roster. The team closed out its time in South Carolina with victories over Florida Lady Aces 2025 and Palmetto State-based FCA Eagles 2025. Ashworth tallied 10 points in the game with FCA Eagles 2025. Ashworth is one of the taller members of the travel squad at 5-foot-9 and uses every bit of that to her advantage. One way she does it is by setting up shop in the painted area and converting on high-percentage shot opportunities. Rebounding and post play are two other key elements to her overall game.
T’ijah Davis – 2025 – Boiling Springs HS – FCA Eagles 2025 – Davis is one of three Bulldogs that are occupying spots on this year’s FCA Eagles 2025 roster. Standing tall at an even six feet, Davis provides quite the paint presence. She is versatile in the frontcourt as she can play minutes as either a traditional big or as a three or a four. Throughout her athletic career, she has also competed in track and field events. Davis had a strong finish to the Triumph Region Finals as she led FCA Eagles 2025 with a 10-point effort against Georgia-based Wood Elite 2025.
Anastasia Gillam Anastasia Gillam 5'3" | PG JL Mann | 2027 State SC – 2027 – Calhoun Falls Charter – Greenwood Storm 2026 – A travel team championship is sure to give this rising star plenty of momentum when it is time to once again sport the blue and gold of the Flashes. Gillam is an efficient scorer who can put points on the board from anywhere on the court. She is also skilled as a ball distributor and plays every game with a fearless attitude. Gillam is unafraid of contact that can put her at the free throw line and she also makes things difficult for opposing ball carriers as a defender. She scored 11 points and had no fouls called against her as her team prevailed over Richmond Heat 2026 to win the 14U Triumph Region championship.
Ty Johnson Ty Johnson 5'9" | SF Greenwood | 2026 State SC – 2026 – Brewer MS – Greenwood Storm 2026 – Johnson’s travel team prevailed over Richmond Heat 2026 by a final of 49-33 to claim the 14U Triumph Region championship. She will not only transition into the preps season, but the high school ranks as a whole with an AAU crown. Johnson is 5-foot-9 and plays with a high basketball IQ. She is someone who can put points on the board and is a gifted rebounder. She is offensively versatile as she can shoot from either long range or midrange. Johnson can also take the ball to the rack and excels in transition. She had 12 points in the win over Richmond Heat 2026.
Alana Pinnock – 2028 – Somerset Academy – Miami Impact 2025 – One would not expect a sixth grader to be able to hold her own against the 16U competition Miami Impact 2025 typically goes to battle against. But Pinnock is no typical sixth grader. She previously ran on the travel circuit with Florida Lady Huskies and has a multi-dimensional skillset that includes the ability to score, rebound and distribute the ball. As a defender, she can make things uncomfortable for opposing ball handlers bolsters a team’s overall defensive efforts as a ball hawk and a shot blocker. She had 11 points as Miami Impact 2025 finished the Triumph Region Finals with an 11-point outing in a 64-38 win over Georgia Flames.
