<strong>Observations</strong>:
I thought 2025 Alexa Schwartz was highly active on defense. Schwartz was right up on 2022 Taja Stephens during one drill and applying on-ball pressure. For context, Stephens was a 1,000-point scorer at Western. Schwartz was moving her feet well and showed active hands. I also liked her defensive awareness in a perimeter passing drill. Schwartz averaged 11.8 points, 7.3 rebounds, 4.2 assists and 3.2 steals per game for Boca Raton St. Andrew’s. Her talent might move her up to the 17U team.
I was impressed with 2025 Kayla Greyvensteyn and 2026 [player_tooltip player_id="221610" first="Karolina" last="Ramirez"]. Greyvensteyn is long and athletic enough to score off the dribble. She can also shoot from outside and be a valuable contributor as a face-up or back to the basket defender. I think Greyvensteyn has that type of offensive/defensive versatility as she develops. Ramirez has a good handle and can create off the dribble. She also showed knockdown ability on the perimeter. Ramirez gives G Nation solid depth at guard.
2023 [player_tooltip player_id="331756" first="Aniyah" last="Ruddock"] is an athletic guard with a strong handle. I thought her movement and awareness with the basketball was efficient. Ruddock is shifty and can create off the dribble. I think she can finish with an array of moves at the rim. Ruddock was also knocking down consecutive wing 3-pointers. She played for Deerfield Beach last season.
2024 [player_tooltip player_id="398981" first="Jordan" last="Kosoy"] and 2023 [player_tooltip player_id="363903" first="Konstantina" last="Mantziori"] are two seasoned point guards. They both have good court awareness and ability to make quick decisions in transition. Moreover, their vision and anticipation is effective in the halfcourt. Both are improving as offensive scorers. I think G Nation is in safe hands with either of them running its offense.
2023 [player_tooltip player_id="352563" first="Brooke" last="Buckman"] will be key to this team. She has size and length to be an active rebounder/rim protector. I also think she could chip in with points in the paint. Buckman can also run the floor a bit. That could give G Nation another look when they want to get out in transition. 6-foot-3 Donna Maria-Green should also be valuable around the basket.
I think G Nation has a ton of depth at guard/wing. You could see a lot of development from those players this summer. In addition, the veterans can help along the younger group in the process. G Nation will need to rebound and limit teams to a single possession. Overall, I think its a great chance for each team to gain experience which should carry over into the high school season.
