These players from all different positions made sure to put their stamp on the game with their playmaking ability on both sides of the court. From getting a hockey assist on the offensive end, to getting stops on the defensive end these players left their mark.
Breanna Hubbard (Lady Dueces, MO #3)- Maybe one of the most physical players you’ll see all weekend, constantly looking for the contact even before she looks to make a play most of the time with or without the ball. From being physical on post ups, to getting open to go get the ball, she make sure she clears space to get the ball and goes to work. On the block she has good footwork, she showed she can spin, do an up and under, variety of moves down under the rim that will translate big time to the college level. Something most kids don’t have is a high motor but Breanna sprints the floor every possession on both ends, that’s something you can’t teach that Breanna has. With her playing the post she’s going to get fouled a lot for years to come, the pro to that is she is an excellent free throw shooter so it will make teams pay for fouling and force them to figure out another way to stop her.
Kelsi Fair (Lady Dueces, MO #43)- My favorite thing about her is her vocal leadership on the defensive end mostly and some on the offensive end. What caught my attention was how vocal she was while being on defense. She called out every screen, yelled when she was in help, even sometimes yelled when she wasn’t in help and her teammate was by themselves. Her talking ability makes her a huge asset to this Lady Dueces team. On the offensive end when she’s not touching the ball she is staying active by going to screen for someone, constantly flashing and going back door.
Lindsey Wisdom (Lady Cats, KS #45)- Lindsey has good size, she has shown her versatility by posting up on the offensive end, defending the post on the defensive end and even bringing the ball up after the rebound. She’s not the type to just hand it off to her guard once she crosses half court but she will push the tempo after she rebounds it and make a back door pass leading to a lay up.
Alivia Morten Alivia Morten 5'7" | SG Hartington-Newcastle | 2023 State NE (Nebraska Bullets #5)- Morten is a strong driver to the rim and loves to drive it left. While Alivia is looking for her lay up at the rim, she is also checking for cutters or any open shooters. Morten finishes through contact really well and sets the tone defensively with her hustle by diving on the floor.
Lakaylah Kearnes (Nebraska Bullets #1)- Kearnes knows what she does well and she make sure she shows that every game, shooting the 3. She has a “next shot” mentality, not getting discourage by any of her misses after a hot start. When she’s not catching and shooting it she’s pressing full court and causing havoc for the primary ball handler.
