<strong>[player_tooltip player_id="153427" first="Rebekah" last="Rupert"], Ritchie County, PF, 6-1</strong> - [player_tooltip player_id="153427" first="Rebekah" last="Rupert"] currently owns the title of best post player in the state.

It used to be that she needed ballhandling skills. If only she improved those, she would be harder to stop. Now, she’s so far ahead in terms of her handles from her on-the-block peers that her game is that much more advanced – miles ahead really. Plop her into a double-team situation and she still might pass out to a teammate, but she can dribble through the trouble and wait for her teammates to help her out. Combine that with her arsenal of weapons, and college coaches should be chomping at the bit to get this kid on their team. They are getting a stretch four capable of opening up the floor and causing multiple problems on the same number of levels. It was an easy decision to move her up to the No. 2 ranking in the class behind Cabell Midland’s [player_tooltip player_id="153410" first="Jayda" last="Allie"].
<strong>[player_tooltip player_id="410470" first="Meghan" last="Taylor"], Winfield, CG, 5-6</strong> - Meghan combines a high basketball IQ with speed and great shot selection. She rarely takes a bad shot, and if she gets you in the air, then she’s driving right by you to the basket. Attempt to stop her at your own risk, oh and all Division II coaches – go see this girl ASAP.
<strong>[player_tooltip player_id="410466" first="Autumn" last="Block"], Tolsia, SG, 5-11 -</strong> Tolsia was a physical regional qualifier who caused a lot of problems for other teams in Class A. Block, a strong and intense player, contributed her fair share of those headaches. Built with a sturdy frame, she used opportunities on both offense and defense. She’s comfortable creating offense in the post, on the perimeter, or in transition. Defensively, she’s a smart player who bumps and bangs with her assignment within reason. I expect her to keep rising through the ranks with her physical and all-around tough game.
<strong>[player_tooltip player_id="153431" first="Kierstyn" last="Fore"], George Washington, CG, 5-8</strong> - If anyone came on bigger at the end of the high school season, well, they would have had to severely outwork Fore. With her group in need of a post-season push, she rose to the occasion. Not just a little bit, but about as high as you can. Against Greenbrier East and Capital, she poured in the points and showed more of her game than she had since the regular season. Her hard work made her a prime candidate for a stockriser, and she’s only going up from here.
<strong>[player_tooltip player_id="153432" first="Kadie" last="Colebank"], Tucker County, C, 6-1</strong> - I am not <img class="wp-image-426276 alignright lazyloaded" src="https://prephoops-uploads.s3.amazonaws.com/pgh/uploads/2022/05/Kadie-Colebank--197x300.jpg" sizes="(max-width: 111px) 100vw, 111px" srcset="https://prephoops-uploads.s3.amazonaws.com/pgh/uploads/2022/05/Kadie-Colebank--197x300.jpg 197w, https://prephoops-uploads.s3.amazonaws.com/pgh/uploads/2022/05/Kadie-Colebank--673x1024.jpg 673w, https://prephoops-uploads.s3.amazonaws.com/pgh/uploads/2022/05/Kadie-Colebank--768x1168.jpg 768w, https://prephoops-uploads.s3.amazonaws.com/pgh/uploads/2022/05/Kadie-Colebank--1010x1536.jpg 1010w, https://prephoops-uploads.s3.amazonaws.com/pgh/uploads/2022/05/Kadie-Colebank--1346x2048.jpg 1346w, https://prephoops-uploads.s3.amazonaws.com/pgh/uploads/2022/05/Kadie-Colebank--600x913.jpg 600w, https://prephoops-uploads.s3.amazonaws.com/pgh/uploads/2022/05/Kadie-Colebank--scaled.jpg 1683w" alt="" width="111" height="169" data-src="https://prephoops-uploads.s3.amazonaws.com/pgh/uploads/2022/05/Kadie-Colebank--197x300.jpg" data-srcset="https://prephoops-uploads.s3.amazonaws.com/pgh/uploads/2022/05/Kadie-Colebank--197x300.jpg 197w, https://prephoops-uploads.s3.amazonaws.com/pgh/uploads/2022/05/Kadie-Colebank--673x1024.jpg 673w, https://prephoops-uploads.s3.amazonaws.com/pgh/uploads/2022/05/Kadie-Colebank--768x1168.jpg 768w, https://prephoops-uploads.s3.amazonaws.com/pgh/uploads/2022/05/Kadie-Colebank--1010x1536.jpg 1010w, https://prephoops-uploads.s3.amazonaws.com/pgh/uploads/2022/05/Kadie-Colebank--1346x2048.jpg 1346w, https://prephoops-uploads.s3.amazonaws.com/pgh/uploads/2022/05/Kadie-Colebank--600x913.jpg 600w, https://prephoops-uploads.s3.amazonaws.com/pgh/uploads/2022/05/Kadie-Colebank--scaled.jpg 1683w" />sure how much credit I can give this young lady next to the amount I have already given her. She’s taken her game and transformed it into something I haven’t seen from her these last three high school years. Quite simply, she’s taking the fight to her opponent and is one of the leaders on a Dragons team that just doesn’t know how to quit. She’s channeling her passion for the game into a focused attack that’s turned her into a tough to stop post player. Perhaps she knows that Tucker County really can challenge Cameron for the Class A title, but only if she’s mean and ready to bang down low against the Dragon’s 6-foot-3 Ashlynn Van Tassell. Colebank more than earned her rise in the rankings.
