Last year, with a tandem of Madison St. Rose, an incoming freshman at Princeton now and Zoe Brooks, who recently committed to NC State, the two were an unstoppable force.
SJV was quite simply the best of the best in the Garden State, but this year, things might change at the top of the food chain because Morris Catholic just got a lot better in one summer.
Bliss Vimbor and Alexis Rosenfeld, two big names who starred at Saddle River Day, have transferred over to the Crusaders for the upcoming season and oh boy did that create a juggernaut.
The two AAU teammates with New Jersey Sparks just joined several more high school teammates now with Mia and Mya Pauldo, two of the most dynamic freshman in New Jersey.
But let’s talk more about Vimbor and Rosenfeld, who are entering an insane roster right now. Rosenfeld is a 6-3 forward with length, height and size to her advantage.
While her stats at SRD last season were on the lower end, she’s a fantastic option down low and will fit great immediately into a team that didn’t have a reliable enough big on its roster.
Next, we go over to Vimbor, a rising junior who is a fantastic spot-up shooter and perimeter shooter in general and this summer, she’s done a great job at showing she can drive the lane well and be a big presence in the lane.
Vimbor is someone who is improving greatly with time and time will only benefit her more with her overall development. It’s more than apparent that she’s maturing well into her current role, but her ceiling is only continuing to rise.
When watching her tape from this AAU season, you can see that the shooting is already there, something that has been constant since last season.
However, it’s the remainder of her game that the 5-9 guard has definitely improved upon and now made a priority in her game. A great shooting guard is one that isn’t strictly confined to a three and D role and Vimbor has definitely realized that and made herself multi-dimensional.
These two join the aforementioned Pauldo twins, plus rising sophomore sensation Daniella Matus and the veteran leader of the group, rising senior Natalie Stoupakis.
There’s now even more shooting and a solidified frontcourt presence for the Crusaders this coming season and that should mean that the sky is the limit. Expect nothing else but a battle for NJ supremacy this season.
