Rylie Shallow
Shallow excelled for her 1848 Legends team. She was excellent with the ball in her hands. The 2025 guard pushed the ball through full-court presses and repeatedly got by her initial defender to create advantages for her team. Shallow does a lot of things that lead to good offensive opportunities.
Makenzie Luehring Makenzie Luehring 5'6" | PG Kettle Moraine Lutheran | 2025 State WI
The Kettle Moraine Lutheran guard showed her scoring prowess on Tuesday afternoon. Luehring showed she could score from anywhere on the floor in transition or half-court offense. I loved how well she played within her team’s offense. She scored a lot, and none of it felt forced.
Grace Zortman Grace Zortman 5'6" | CG Homestead | 2025 State WI
I vividly remember Zortman scoring an and-one in Jackson against Kettle Moraine Lutheran back in December. Since then, I’ve been a fan of what she does on the floor. Zortman is an excellent athlete who’ll end up helping Homestead on the wing for the next three years. She can score from all three levels and defend physically.
Breana Dickrell Breana Dickrell 5'8" | SG Freedom | 2026 State WI
As far as wings, Dickrell may have been the most impressive of the 25s in Appleton. She showed what she was capable of doing in an in-your-face manner. She knocked down seven 3s in her Blaze team’s 2nd game on Tuesday and made it look routine. She’s an athletic wing who can move her feet on the defensive end. I loved what I saw from her at the Champion Center.
Ava Westerman
There may not be someone who had a more underappreciated role on a state finalist than Ava Westerman. She was the Pewaukee guard who did all the little things to help her team win games. She defended, switched onto much taller guards, and fought. I’ll never forget the mental toughness she showed at the free-throw line to knock down a crucial free throw late after missing a pair. She’s not afraid of anything and has been a winner. She did all those things for 1on1 Milwaukee.
Jenna Tierney
I’ve seen South Milwaukee play a handful of times, and I never saw what I saw from Tierney earlier this week. She was aggressive with the ball. You could see her athleticism pop with some cuts she made, and she’s a muscular kid. She was the kid who surprised me the most.
EllaMay Cooper
I saw the younger Cooper play at Summer Jam and knew she was good. I saw her play against 24s this week and realized she has a chance to be one of the better prospects coming down the pipeline in America’s Dairyland. Cooper is already one of the best ball handlers in the state, and the future McDonell Central guard is only a 2027 prospect. I’ll be curious to see how she develops over time, but she already understands how to move defenders with her movement and attack space.
Ella Rolison
The Cedarburg wing was more than impressive in Appleton. She found unique ways to score in the paint. Rolison used reverse pivots, spins, and her off-hand to keep her team in a game and eventually win. I’ll be curious to see how Cedarburg utilizes their abundance of wings because Rolison is a kid who could help them a lot in her senior season.
Annyka Hellendrung Annyka Hellendrung 5'8" | SG Waukesha West | 2023 State WI
There was nobody who had the physical strength that Hellendrung possesses in Appleton. You can see her power in her shot. It looks like she flips it out of her hand in the blink of an eye. I didn’t see anyone out-hustle her or even contest a rebound she got. You could tell that everyone she played against knew there was no point in trying. Essentially what I saw from her was an elite 3&D wing, and I don’t use the term elite lightly. She’s scholarship good.
