From the Run4Roses tournament in Louisville, Kentucky to recent tournaments at Spooky Nook and Chicago, that’s given us plenty of great basketball to watch up-and-down the Garden State. Here’s a quick look at some standouts over the past week or so that we’ve really enjoyed watching.
Alexa Henry Alexa Henry 5'6" | CG Lenape | 2025 State NJ – PG, Lenape (2025, Philly Belles 15U)
Henry is in the top third of our 2025 prospect list and she’s continued to impress in bulk with the Philadelphia Belles this summer on the circuit. Her ability to take over a game in a split second, breaking someone’s ankles on the way to the cup or pulling up from mid-range for an open look, is just incredible. Henry makes things happen on both sides of the floor truly, an excellent defensive guard that knows how to create turnovers and produce bad possessions for opponents
Zoie Maffei – SG/SF Jackson Memorial (2023, Jersey Gemz 17U)
Maffei is part of a stacked roster for the Jersey Gemz and she does a great job standing out from the crowd when it comes to her overall game. You can see that for as well-rounded of a player she is, from her three-point shooting to her shot-blocking and rebounding. Even her passing has come quite a ways over the past year compared to what it was in the first two seasons of her high school career. That development is key for her future development with the Gemz.
Katerina Dakos – PG/SG, Newark Academy (2024, NJ Rise 16U Napolitano)
Dakos has built off of the success she had as a sophomore at Newark Academy during the summer and we’ve seen that in full force with NJ Rise. Her breakout speed toward the lane even in a half court setup is impressive to watch. With Dakos, you know that you’re getting someone who knows how to cut and drive to the lane with authority. That’s exactly what you want from a point guard and it shows maturity that she’s more than able to take the offense into her own hands.
Jada Jacobs – PG/SG, Medford Tech (2023, AUF AAU 17U)
Jacobs is a pure scorer in the truest form and we’ve seen that on full display so far this summer. She’s comfortable beating you in a number of ways on offense and she backs that up with incredible ball handling skills and an occasional killer crossover that she’ll break out. From fadeaway jumpers in the paint to a quick basket in transition, her versatility as a guard is what makes her shine the most. This is someone we expect to come close to, if not average 20 points a game as a senior.
Taniyah Decker – PG/SG, Donovan Catholic (2024, NJ Shoreshots 16U)
If you’re looking for a 2024 guard who deserves more coverage to her game, Decker is your player and she’s making strides this summer that should translate into a monster spring for her. First off, her dribble drive and ball handling skills are incredible and her step-overs in the lane are something to behold. Additionally, she’s got a great eye for the game and is a fantastic passer, an underrated trait in today’s game. She finishes well through contact in the lane and that physicality works so well with her overall play style.
