There are more than a handful that deserve attention; however, I will be focusing on five that I think deserve the attention with how they contributed to their team.
https://twitter.com/ott_calliernOtt is one the more underappreciated talents on her AAU and High School teams. Ott has above average ball handling and is a perimeter attacker. She is aggressive with the ball in her hands and engages in the contact with strong finishes. Her length and physicality can be tough to match at the shooting guard position and she uses that to her advantage, even getting position and posting in the paint. Ott is a scrappy and will chase down any loose ball in her vicinity. This fall, on a team with a solid inside post player and solid perimeter shooters, Ott could be the key with her ability to attack the rim to create opportunities. The Mustang’s Stable is loaded with talent.

https://twitter.com/addiehatcliff23rnHatcliff plays above her size on both ends of the floor. She has good length, challenging opposing team’s guards with her quick hands and long arms. Hatcliff is a sniper from distance and can be a knockdown coming off a screen or spotting up. As mentioned, she plays above her size and can hustle for rebounds or finish at the rim. Hatcliff should be a standout for the Orange(wo)men this year.

https://twitter.com/ebrown3315rnA strong interior post player, Brown has tremendous ability to get solid positioning in the paint and finish. Brown knows how to use her size and strength to her advantage, clearing space for rebounding or opening lanes for penetrating guards. Brown’s paint presence and determination on the boards should allow her to shine bright for Malcolm this year.

https://twitter.com/sammy_leurnLeu is not flying super far under the radar, but I do believe her talent is being a little overlooked. The recent Concordia commit has length and quick hands that frustrates opposing teams, while creating multiple turnovers. Offensively, Leu creates fastbreaks off turnovers and is a knockdown shooter from beyond the arc. Leu will be a major piece for a Wahoo run this year.

https://twitter.com/elliewellsssrnWells is my biggest under the radar find. Playing on one of the most talented girls AAU teams in the state, 2025’s, Wells size and energy stands out. She plays well off the dribble and has no problem attacking the rim or creating her own shot. She brings tons of hustle and knows how to use her size to her advantage. Look for Wells to start making an impact on a talented Thunderbolts team this year.
