With numerous evaluators and writers popping up, what they say is their opinion, well just like the National guys in the past, and when I say I didn’t care what they DIDN’T say about my daughter, 8 or 9 seasons in the WNBA later, and I certainly don’t care what anyone else says, that’s THEIR opinion so with that being said, the PGH Freshmen Showcase will be in Carrolton, August 28th. This is a wonderful opportunity for me to see you in person, use COLSON2026 for a discount and you can REGISTER here, and keep in mind, that the 2026 Watchlist is dropping not long after this event
Cemaria Kelly Cemaria Kelly 5'7" | CG LaVega | 2026 State TX -5’5 PG (Lavega) Waco United
Kelly showed poise under pressure playing up 2 years ago and I was astounded at her handling her business. Fast forward to now, she is definitely in the mix with the top players in her Texas class. She’s explosive off the dribble, has very good body control, and finishes after contact. The jumper is solid, and so is her smothering defense
Jordan Pete Jordan Pete 5'6" | CG Sotomayor | 2026 State TX -5’5 PG (Folks) SA Finest
Pete had me saying “For Pete’s sake” when I first caught her. she too was poised playing against older players and just wouldn’t back down. Her finishes were strong as she attacked with either hand yet her mid to long-range kept the defender guessing. She handles the ball and sees the floor well
Arianna Davis Arianna Davis 5'7" | SG Antonian | 2026 State TX -5’7 SG (San Antonio Christian) SA Finest
Davis has several positives that she will use immediately and her ability to “catch and shoot” at this stage will create many problems. She understands how to create her shot and can drop the jumper in the set or the stop and pop in transition
Isabella Chase Isabella Chase 5'6" | PG St Mary's Hall | 2026 State TX -5’2 PG (Basis Shavano) SA Finest
Chase Me was one of my favorite songs yet Confunkshun also made Fun which she is as in fun to watch. She scores off the dribble, with either hand, and watching her complete reverse layups from both sides with either hand, made me smile
Janea Walls Janea Walls 5'7" | SG Medina Valley | 2026 State TX -5’5 SG (Medina Valley) SA Finest
Walls just tear them down as in defenders. She attacks hard and finishes strongly but peep this, also acrobatically, and showing that type of body control right now is huge. What’s also huge is she plays the passing lane
Rilyn Grona Rilyn Grona 5'5" | PG Fredricksburg | 2026 State TX -5’2 PG (Fredricksburg) Texas Elite Austin Future 16U
Grona falls into that #sizedontmatter category and when she dropped the FLOATA, I dropped the notebook. She scored other ways off the dribble, she also dropped the outside shot but her handling of the ball and seeing the floor were also nice
Lakenzee Dixon-5’5 PG (Horace Mann) Lady Heat ATX
Dixon showed plenty of athleticism, on both ends. Her “on the ball” defense was solid, she also used her hands nicely and came away with steals but let me also mention her taking the defender off the dribble and finishing after the lick
Sophia Rodriguez Sophia Rodriguez 5'8" | SG La Porte | 2026 TX -5’6 PG (LaPorte) Houston United Bobby
Rodriguez showed confidence when she moved up and that told me a lot. She sold me years ago yet this was the icing on the cake as she battled against players potentially heading to college. She’s heady, plays within herself, and handles pressure. The jumper is there, and so is her attacking yet that court vision is also solid
