One of those regions is the Beaufort-Hilton Head area. Included in this portion of the Palmetto State is a 4A SCHSL team that finished with only two losses last season (none in conference play) and the defending four-time SCISA 2A champions.

Where do we rank the senior talent in Beaufort County? It was by no means an easy task, but here is what we managed to come up with.

This past season, Washington reached the 1,000 point plateau. As that feat proves, she can be an at-will scorer, being true on her tries from midrange or draining from deep. Washington plays with a fearless attitude where she attacks the basket and also provides lots of defense via playing on the perimeter as well as her shot blocking. Washington averaged 16 points last season for Beaufort Academy who will remain in SCISA 2A but as a Region 2-2A team instead of Region 4-2A.","_player_evaluations_0_evaluation":"field_62aba51aecf34","player_evaluations":1,"_player_evaluations":"field_62aba7547dc44"},"align":"","mode":"preview"} /-->

That team is, of course, the Hilton Head Christian Academy Eagles – winners of the last four state crowns. In addition to basketball, she has excelled as a volleyball player in blue and gold. Last season was Grayson's first at Hilton Head Christian after playing in Savannah with Woodville-Tompkins. She can play with her back to the basket in the low post and can haul in plenty of rebounds. Grayson is not afraid of contact which can put her at the line and bolsters a team's overall offensive output. The Eagles will compete this season as a 3A SCISA team.","_player_evaluations_0_evaluation":"field_62aba51aecf34","player_evaluations":1,"_player_evaluations":"field_62aba7547dc44"},"align":"","mode":"preview"} /-->

She was a freshman back then and is an experienced veteran today. Heyward will absorb contact and find her way to the free throw line and has developed a knack for sinking clutch baskets in big games. She is gifted as a rim attacker and can deliver a few crafty passes. Defensively, she is an asset given how much of a consistent threat she is to steal the ball and create extra possessions for her team. The Eagles are once again poised to make noise in 2022-23.","_player_evaluations_0_evaluation":"field_62aba51aecf34","player_evaluations":1,"_player_evaluations":"field_62aba7547dc44"},"align":"","mode":"preview"} /-->

When Wilson is not making life for opponents difficult for Eagles opponents on the basketball court, she is doing so on the soccer pitch as Beaufort's goalie. There is no quit in Quinn. Wilson brings a competitive edge to every matchup she competes in. Wilson is a vocal leader in addition to leading by example via her play. She can get creative with her passes and does anything necessary to ensure her team is in the win column when the clock hits triple zeroes.","_player_evaluations_0_evaluation":"field_62aba51aecf34","player_evaluations":1,"_player_evaluations":"field_62aba7547dc44"},"align":"","mode":"preview"} /-->

Peduzzi is a gifted rebounder who wins plenty of battles on the boards. Defensively, she can disrupt an opponent's passing lanes with her knack for deflecting or intercepting said passes. A good bit of the points Peduzzi tallies come off of offensive rebounds which she converts into two-point putbacks. Hustle and the ability to sink her free throw attempts are two other vital elements to Peduzzi's game.","_player_evaluations_0_evaluation":"field_62aba51aecf34","player_evaluations":1,"_player_evaluations":"field_62aba7547dc44"},"align":"","mode":"preview"} /-->

Wilson herself has found success as a basketball player alongside competing in track and field. Wilson can score in a variety of ways – either via the 3-pointer, from the midrange or by penetrating to the basket. She also plays the game with an understanding that contact will be drawn and free throws will be made. Wilson is willing to fall to the floor if it means competing a play and is as gifted as a ball distributor as she is as a scorer. If she comes up with a steal on defense, it is an extra possession – and possible points in transition.","_player_evaluations_0_evaluation":"field_62aba51aecf34","player_evaluations":1,"_player_evaluations":"field_62aba7547dc44"},"align":"","mode":"preview"} /-->

With two of the team's star seniors having graduated, Love will likely be more of a focal point for the 2022-23 rendition of Whale Branch basketball. She stands at 6-foot-1 as a five and a major element to her overall game is the number of rebounds she brings down. Love also puts plenty of points on the board and being as tall as she is makes it a tall task for opponents to score on her. Love also plays volleyball in addition to basketball.","_player_evaluations_0_evaluation":"field_62aba51aecf34","player_evaluations":1,"_player_evaluations":"field_62aba7547dc44"},"align":"","mode":"preview"} /-->
