Watching these young ladies over the past 2 or 3 years has been a treat, especially since I’ve already said what they would become, before some national idiot tweets out I copied them, sad but true, yet this social media era just boggles the mind, well mine at least so here ya go
Bailey Burns
Burns continues to grow, both on and off the court, and her ability to finish after contact is probably one of the most impressive improvements I saw, I’m all about progression. She’s also attacking the basket from the wing, something I suggested a while back and with her frame, she’s going to be creating problems in high school. I say that because she understands how to create her shot and she can drop both the mid and long-range jumper, both will keep getting better, well and deeper, and she rebounds on both ends
Rachel Roberts
Roberts just left me speechless with her progression, especially on the defensive end and her diving for loose balls on the court JUST DID IT for me, something about desire and doing things you can’t teach always grabs me. She also is attacking the basket stronger and finishing strongly, using some impressive body control in doing so, not to leave out “after the lick”. I also enjoyed her creating her shot and knocking it down
Mackenzie Teuton Mackenzie Teuton 5'5" | PG Travis | 2027 State TX
Teuton has been “taunting” defenders with the ball for quite some time and her being “heady” “playing within herself” and understanding “how to control the tempo” all are definitions associated with one of my favorite sayings “the game starts at the 1”. Her court vision is ahead of her years, she understands how to mix it up offensively to attack, with either hand and score, with either hand on her finishes but she also can drop the mid to long-range
Kamdyn Flora Kamdyn Flora 5'8" | SG Kinkaid | 2027 State TX
Flora is one of those players I knew before she was born, meaning I knew her parents way back. She had the #D1Lock dropped on her a couple of years ago, she’s that good and her potential and upside solidify what I’m saying. She has the frame, she has the athleticism and she has the ability to just take over games when needed. Her scoring multiple ways from multiple angles always impresses me, as well as her sticky defense which leads to something else I love to see, she plays the passing lane
Sydney Marshall Sydney Marshall 5'10" | SF Kinkaid | 2027 State TX
Marshall, like Flora, wasn’t even born when I met her mom who is a head coach, Kinkaid, and played at the next. I was impressed with Sydney watching at her mom’s games and she came and sat by me and was evaluating the opposing team as well as players, she was in the 3rd grade, and I was floored. Not too many things leave me speechless and I finally caught her at one of my camps and I couldn’t stop talking, writing. Look, I love progression and yes, she can be overpowering in the paint, rebounding on both ends, finishing with players literally hanging on her and scoring around the rim as well as facing the basket has her handing of the ball in the open court, not to leave out seeing the floor. If I hadn’t locked her in, she is now
