I’m going to give you 5 players that I’ve messed up on in some way. Maybe they were ranked too low. Maybe they should have been included in a past article. Maybe I just don’t write about them enough. Either way, I owe them, so here they are.
Boyke has slowly rose up the rankings over her high school career, but I now when I’m wrong, it should have been faster. Boyke is ready for a big senior season and I think will be hearing Miss Basketball whispers over the course of the year.
I always knew Reid was good, but she drove home the point of exactly how good she really is at a PGH Circuit event this spring. She can flat out play with the best. When playing a team filled with D1 recruits, Reid was probably the most impressive player on the floor. She can handle the ball, create and score like a D1 talent.
I was just slow in seeing her play. and man do I regret it. Kyles is a beast in the lane. She doesn’t just rebound, she attacks the glass. This allows her to pick up a lot of high percentage looks at the rim. Kyles is going to be a walking and talking double-double in points and rebounds this season.
Brewer probably deserves to be ranked higher. She has a lot of strength and physicality of the ball and it’s a real advantage most of the times that she’s on the court. Brewer is probably known best as a shooter. She can bury a triple off the dribble and the catch.
Quite simply, Pobocik needs to be ranked higher. It starts at ends for her at the defensive end. She’s a bona fide perimeter stopper. College coaches have seen, and will continue to see, the value that she can add to their programs
