There were still a lot of duos on teams that played very well together. Let’s look at some of these 1-2 punches at the Top 250.
Take a look at my previous coverage of the 2022 Prep Girls Hoops Michigan Top 250 below.
TEAM 1
It’s really tough to effectively guard 2 elite level athletes. Sain was a part of that duo. She made plays off the bounce all night and showed superb athleticism.
Woods was another elite athlete on this team. She could run the floor and create when the ball was in her hands. Woods gave her team yet another player that could break down the defense.
TEAM 2
I was so impressed with speed at which she was able to play at the Top 250. Meredith was just so tough for defenses to stay in front of.
So your already having a hard time with Meredith, and now you add Wallace. Good luck. She’s another speedy guard that can push the pace. The duo was almost impossible to cover effectively.
TEAM 5
Washington could have been in the mix for an MOP award for the event. She was terrific in all aspects of her game. She scored, distributed, and defended very well. Simply, she was a handful.
Put Standfest next to Washington, and you have an excellent chance of winning. They were 2 of the better defenders that I saw in Grand Rapids. Standfest’s versatility on both ends paired well with Washington.
TEAM 9
I liked the way that Kyles defended at the Top 250. She was an athlete that could take chances on the ball and force the offense to make decisions.
Mericle made a tough defensive duo with Kyles. While Kyles seemed to be more of a risk taker, Mericle buckled down and got stops. She kept a low base and made her opponent work for looks at the rim.
Highlights
TEAM 10
Linden will be one of the top senior point guards in Michigan this year. She can make plays off the ball as well as shoot with range from beyond the arc.
This almost feels like a passing of the torch in Livingston County. Farr is a 2 way player that brings a ton of energy. She’s a super talented lead guard the hustles and communicates much in the same fashion as Linden.
