I took to Twitter to see what duos in North Carolina need to be watched this upcoming high school season, and the responses did not disappoint. Here are some of the duos in Charlotte area 4A schools that should be watched.

Last year, the dynamic duo at Independence was [player_tooltip player_id='252847' first='Kaylee' last='Carson'] and [player_tooltip player_id='303060' first='Kamryn' last='Kitchen']. Unfortunately, Carson will not be able to play this year after tearing her ACL, so it is just in time for Hannah Moss to come in and fill the void. As an athlete who hasn't yet played a high school game, she is already catching the eyes of college coaches. She is dynamic with her ability to handle the ball, drive it hard to the basket, and knock down shots from deep. Being able to share the ball handling with Kitchen will certainly bring an efficient offense that scores on all levels. Kitchen is an efficient shooter being ready to put up her shot in an instant. These two athletes are already playing at high levels making the patriots a team to keep an eye out for this season.

Marvin Ridge has a nice guard duo as well. Riley Smith controls the ball moving around under pressure finding her open teammates or filling the lanes herself showing off a nice finish underneath the basket. She doesn't have to work through the contact if she doesn't need to, though, as [player_tooltip player_id='390859' first='Reese' last='Fritz'] stays ready to drain it from behind the arc. There's a reason people playing Fritz constantly yell, “Shooter,” when she has the ball, and her quick release makes it difficult for people to close out on her shot.

Our last guard duo in this article comes from Porter Ridge. [player_tooltip player_id='213234' first='Jyana' last='Salton'] is going into her senior season returning to top form after injury and certainly ready to set the nets on fire as she has been doing. She is a sharp shooter being able to drain it from anywhere, and she is capable of putting her head down to get to the basket for two. Her counterpart, [player_tooltip player_id='253885' first='Olivia' last='Burke'], moves fluidly with the ball waiting patiently to use a move, create separation, and get to the basket. She's the best on ball defender for the group as well. Be prepared to see both of these ladies average double digits this season.

[player_tooltip player_id='201848' first='Reagan' last='Iovino'] will be back for the full year as she sets out to play her senior season before moving on to college. As the point guard of her team, she serves as the floor general facilitating plays, pushing the ball up the court, or being patient when letting an offense develop. She easily finds her teammate, [player_tooltip player_id='385144' first='Amanda' last='Sacoto'], inside sealing off her opponents to post up for some points. Sacoto is a rebounding machine who scores off of offensive boards and immediately finds her outlet off a defensive board with Iovino. With these two running things, the Cuthbertson Cavaliers will be a scoring threat on all levels.

Charlotte Catholic has the toughest frontcourt duo with [player_tooltip player_id='253883' first='Blanca' last='Thomas'] and [player_tooltip player_id='326208' first='Gracynn' last='Gough']. Both of these ladies can dominate on the block sealing off opponents, blocking shots, grabbing rebounds, and constantly moving to shift the defense. It is a normal thing for Thomas to see double-doubles with her stats using her height to score and grab rebounds over her opponents. Gough has been expanding the floor showing off her shot from deep, and she does well moving from the high to low post as her team needs it.
