There are a ton of talented kids that don’t see this dream come true through no personal fault- being part of upperclassmen led programs. Some freshman see their dreams fulfilled only to play a secondary role on the team, due again to being on stacked teams. Still, there are some that not only meet this base dream but also meet their wildest dream- completely ball out and dominate. Here are some kids that are guaranteed to make on varsity this year.
Highlights
CCE usually puts out some very nice guards, and Lilly is another. She is a kid that makes teams better as she is a willing passer that keeps the offense clicking. She is always around the ball on defense and in 50-50 situations. I love that her rebounding the most: she really tracks the ball in space. Portland is one of the best Division 2 teams in the state; I am not sure if they will have room for her, but she would get the call up in 90% of schools in the state.
She might be the flashiest freshman in the state. Mariah is jet quick and leaps over the scrum for rebounds. Her passes are usually highlight quality. Her favorite move is a spin move that will require a disciplined, and quick, defender to stop. She will be a nightmare once she adds a second move off the bounce.
Combo guard might be a misnomer- complete offensive player is better. Samara hits open three pointers and is a strong driver. She is a beast in transition and has nice post moves. She has a calmness to her game that is beyond her years. Her defense is solid as well.

Abby is another example of a well rounded offensive player. She has the ability to dominate smaller players in the post, where she can finish with either hand. Despite having the size and the game of a big, Abby can also drive by players with polished handles. She is a high IQ player that justifies the moniker “Point Forward”.
CeCe Bonner

CeCe already has multiple D1 offers and one of the deadliest crossovers in the class. Defenders need to start taking away her left because she is automatic when she goes to that size. She is a crafty and a flashy finisher that makes good use of ball screens. She is productive enough from deep that sagging isn’t an option; it’s also hard to bring help defenders as her vision is next level.
