I saw Ava play on Sunday. She had a standout game and helped her team win a close game against Mass Elite. She is a smooth player, with tight handles and a good feel for the game. She did not panic against the Mass Elite pressure, and was able to dribble through it or make the smart passes. She did a good job running the offense. She had a good shooting day, and made a number of big three pointers down the stretch. She has a good shooting touch, and a quick release. She is a playmaking and high IQ guard. This was not the first time I saw her play, but she continued to impress me. I think Ava will be an impact player for Groton this coming season.
Highlights
Ryanne Sheehan
Ryanne Sheehan
Sheehan is currently ranked 29th in the class of 2027 by Top Spot basketball. She is going to be a high wanted prospect by colleges as she gets older. She plays with great energy and with passion. She was in attack mode this pass weekend, and was attacking down hill at the defenders. She made a bunch of tough finishes through the contact. She plays well above her age level, and still hasn’t reached her full potential. She can score from the outside and inside, and has a great feel and understanding of the game. Ryanne will be a name that should be on your radar for the coming years.
Parker had a standout weekend for the Middlesex Magic, and continues to raise her stock. Her team went 4-0 against tough competition. She just keeps playing poised and with confidence. She was scoring and facilitating the offense. She also had some great plays on defense, show her defensive instincts. Watch out for Kendall this season at Beaver.
Sammi helped IBelive Elite go 4-0 during the event. She is a skilled Combo Guard. She has good handles and uses her dribble moves efficiently. She uses a hesitation, in and out, crossover over or behind the back dribble to blow by the defense. She was was good in transition pushing the ball and passing the ball up the floor. She had one transition finish for an and 1, with an inside hand finish on the left side. She also hit a few shots from the outside. She has good vision and sees the floor well. On defense she showed her peskiness forcing a steal on ball leading to a layup.
