The 2024 class has some serious talent at the Forward position and several of the Forwards are good enough to average double digits in points and rebounds. In this article, we look at some of the 2024 forwards who have the talent and game to pull off this amazing feat.
Nia Blocton Nia Blocton 6'0" | PF Ridgeview | 2024 State FL / 6’0 PF – C / Ridgeview HS
Blocton has accomplished a double-double each of the last 2 seasons (9th and 10th-grade seasons). Blocton averaged 13.2 points and 16.2 rebounds per game in her Freshman year. She was ranked very high nationally with 16.2 rebounds per game. In her Sophomore year, she averaged 15.2 points and 12.1 rebounds per game. She is the president of the “2024 Double-Double Club.” She is set to accomplish the feat for the 3rd straight season. Blocton’s game is suited for the double-double club. She is pure power in the paint and gobbles up every rebound on the defensive end and she is relentless on the offensive end. Either she is putting the ball in the basket or grabbing the offensive rebound and putting it back in the basket. Blocton runs the floor like a guard and scores in transition as much as she does in the offensive sets.
Kiara Williams Kiara Williams 6'1" | PF Palm Bay Magnet | 2024 State FL / 6’0 PF / Palm Bay HS
If Blocton is the president of this double-double club, Kiara Williams Kiara Williams 6'1" | PF Palm Bay Magnet | 2024 State FL immediately is named the Vice President of this club. Last year the power forward averaged 11.6 points per game and 6.5 rebounds as a Sophomore. In case it hasn’t been noticed, this Junior version of Williams is 2 times better than the Sophomore version. Williams, who is now a Junior, just received a major power 5 offer from the University of Michigan. This, after an incredible summer that saw multiple college offers on the table. Williams is one of the top players in the State of Florida. With her credentials, she has been added to this club. Williams is a walking double-double and she is positioned to have a monster Junior season. She can score, rebound, and run the floor, and does it all with some serious power.
Clare Coyle Clare Coyle 6'1" | PF Bishop Kenny | 2024 State FL / 6’1 PF / Bishop Kenny HS
Coyle came close to joining this exclusive club last year when she averaged 8.9 points and 7.7 rebounds. Coyle is relentless on the boards and aggressive in scoring in the paint. She is definitely a player who has a great skillset. Coyle put these skills on display over the summer and garnered a lot of college interest. She recently received an offer from the University of Vermont. Coyle is primed to have a special year and stands a good chance of averaging 10 points and 10 rebounds and landing a spot in the 2024 Double-Double Club.
Jayla Rumley Jayla Rumley 5'10" | PF Bartow | 2024 State FL / 5’10 PF / Bartow HS
Rumley was a standout at the Southeast Showcase. She has a college size body, she is athletic, and has the strength and ability to dominate inside. Rumley is ready to have a very productive year in the scoring and rebound department. She is more than capable of averaging a double-double this upcoming season. Last year she averaged 5 points and 5 rebounds per game. This year she looks to be twice as good and that equates to a double-double average. Rumley is going to have a special year.
Zaree Nichols Zaree Nichols 5'8" | PF River Ridge | 2024 State FL / 5’8 PF / River Ridge HS
Nichols is a versatile player who can score in the paint, run the floor, and score in the midrange area. She is also quick to the ball and that will allow her the chance for a lot of put-back opportunities. Nichols was a force in the National Championship tournament and she is more than capable of producing in a similar fashion in the regular season. At the National Championship tournament, she was scoring nearly 20 points at times and was a pure force in the middle. Nichols can score the ball with her inside game. She can also get to the free-throw line and score points as well. She has the skillset to average a double-double. and even if she doesn’t, there will be statistical improvements all over the place for this talented forward.
Each of these players is on the verge of a special season, and even if they don’t reach this statistical milestone, they will give the State plenty to talk about. Actually, the talk has already started. It’s time to see what these candidates are going to do this upcoming season.
