Alyssa is a skilled shooter from the outside who can punish the defense from range with ease. She has great shot mechanics on her jump shot that has a high release point, which allows her to shoot over the top of the defense and punish them from beyond the arc as well as in the midrange. I was blown away by the ease in which she scored from the perimeter and I was not surprised to see why she wore the number 30 after watching her play for a few minutes! She constantly attacked the defense to either get into the paint or stop on a dime and rise up over them for an easy jumper. I was very impressed with her overall court vision as well, she made good reads to set up her teammates in the full court and the half court. I
Sofia Budnik 2023 5’10 Cinco Ranch High School
Sofia is a crafty guard who can play on or off the ball, and does so at a very high level. She thrives at shooting off the bounce and the catch, all while calmly initiating offense. She is a high level guard with an ability to create space with a live dribble. Her ability to dictate the pace and create looks for her teammates is incredibly impressive, and she is very aware at her ability to create shot attempts if her passes are on the money and on time. I was very impressed by her effectiveness in which she had playing on or off the ball.
Ashton Reynolds 2023 Beaumount High School
Ashton is an aware player who is willing to defend and do all the dirty work, as well as get her shot in the paint. She has a soft floater she can get to in the lane, and really uses it well to create a shot angle over a bigger defender. Her consistency down low allows her to affect the game on the perimeter as well, but her bread and butter is getting downhill and putting pressure on the defense. Her ability to defend multiple positions with an ability to move her feet and defend the perimeter as well as attacking the basket.
Leandria Holmes 2023 5’10 Klein Forest High School
Leandria is a crafty guard whose tenacity on both ends of the floor should turn some heads. She is incredibly aware in the passing lanes, calmly reading the defense and picking off passes and racing the other way. She is aware on the break and made the right reads and constantly created for her teammates and found them with crisp passes that hit them in stride. In the half court, she constantly found her teammates and created shot opportunities for them. Her size allows her to manipulate the defense and force them to sink back to take away shot opportunities down low. The ease in which she finished at the rim gives herself even more space on the perimeter. She constantly hit shots and was always a threat to score from the outside. She displayed an ability to knock down shots off the dribble from beyond the arc.
Ashlynn Galvin 2023 5’6 Jim Ned High School
Ashlynn is an aware and sharp shooting guard who can also put pressure on the defense by attacking the basket or rebounding the ball. I loved the hustle and energy she displayed on both ends of the court, she was not afraid to be moving from sideline to sideline to defend her opponent as well as going after long rebounds. She is a high energy player who is always ready to punish the defense on the catch from the wings and the corners. Her ability to play on the perimeter allows the rest of her team more space to roam and attack the defense. I was very impressed with the ease in which she scored from the outside, and how quick she got shot opportunities up over her defender.
