5 Teams to Watch

Bellbrook- PGH staff and participates believe they are the favorites in this league with all of the weapons they have coming back. Five of their top six players return from last season's 23-3 team including 10-0 overall in the SWBL. [player_tooltip player_id='218299' first='Taylor' last='Scohy'] a 2024 talented guard is the returning Player of the Year in the Eastern Division, and averaged 14.3 ppg and 3.0 steals per game. She has been improving every year. [player_tooltip player_id='270607' first='Kelley' last='Griffin'], 5-4 2023 athlete is a bigtime playmaker for the Eagles, averaging over 8 assists per game last year. She runs the show to perfection, can play fast and has amazing court vision. Distributes the ball very well and gets her team involved. Very underrated! Ashley Frantz is a 5-11 2023 post who not only led the team in rebounds last season, but also was third in three-pointers making her very versatile and a threat in many aspects of the game. Also can see the floor well and guard multiple positions. [player_tooltip player_id='521323' first='Olivia' last='Trusty'] is a rising player who could have her best year this season as a senior. I saw her at our Dayton Shootout and she is a strong player with the ball and not afraid to drive in. Solid footwork and patient with the ball. She looks to stay active on the offense.

Eaton- [player_tooltip player_id='402615' first='Olivia' last='Baumann'] is a solid 6-foot post player who has really developed her game over the years. She does a nice job in the paint and is a physical player who can defend and use her length to create issues. She averaged just shy of 10 ppg last season and was steady from the free throw line while averaging over 11 rebounds per game. Lily Shepherd is another senior who provided a threat for their offense. She can score from the perimeter and scored 13 ppg last season. She is also a very good free throw shooter from the line and is a good defender with great body control. High basketball IQ. Two young players who should provide solid quality play as sophomore Olivia Orr, a 5-8 forward and freshman [player_tooltip player_id='481366' first='Tai' last='Mize'], who is a 2026 guard who the PGH staff saw throughout the summer and was very impressed. She plays above her years and really can control the show.

Valley View- Senior [player_tooltip player_id='216007' first='Riley' last='Hodson'] returns as their leader. Very good all around player with a smooth shot and active hands. Can defend multiple positions and move well without the ball. Can rebound and play strong, with her length it allows her to block shots. We expect her offensive numbers to improve. Ellie Reed is also back as a senior, defends well and can push the tempo of the game in a blink of an eye. Also back is junior Ella Ferguson who will be improved and see her role increase also.

Middletown Madison- Senior Ella Campbell is one of the better seniors in the league, and had good numbers last season. Averaged 10 ppg and closed in double figures in rebounding. Also a good defender as her numbers prove that. The leading scorer returning for Madison is Kylee Wells, a junior who averaged 12 points per game and almost 8 rebounds per game, but a very good stat was her 59% shooting from the field. Her and Ella will provide a very good punch for Madison.

Waynesville- They lost a key guard now playing as a Raider at Wright State, but Waynesville has some quality players back. We saw Tori See this fall and she is a solid player who can play all over the court. As her game continues to grow, so will her confidence. Caroline Stupp is a fiery point guard with good handles and court vision. Emme Greely was consistent around the paint and can rebound. [player_tooltip player_id='319354' first='Avery' last='Whitaker'] is a rising player and is a solid passer. From what we saw this fall, she runs hard in transition and fills lanes well
