Layla Forte had a nice block in transition preventing her opponents from scoring on a fast break. She did a nice job cutting to the basket and finding her open teammate on the other block. She had a nice old fashioned three point play grabbing a rebound for her team on the offense side.
Staci Williams had some nice full court pass finding her teammate filling the lane for some easy points without even dribbling. She can shoot it from deep, too, showing off her range shooting the ball. She doesn’t need to be controlling the ball full time as she flashes up the court herself for the pass and bucket. On the defensive side of the ball, she had some lock up defense at the top of the key. She hustled back on defense locking up jump balls to stop fast breaks from being successful.
Alondra Arroyo knocked down some nice jumpers over her defenders. She dives on the floor going after loose balls, and she blocked shots making sure she was there on both ends of the court. Her battle for an old fashioned three point play gave her team some life early in the fourth quarter cutting into the lead of her opponents.
Valerie Veauthier did a nice job executing a fast break perfectly filling in the lanes and finding the gaps in the defense to catch a pass and score the bucket. She does a nice job pushing the ball up the court finding her open teammates flashing to the basket. She can knock it down from deep, too, hitting three in the fourth quarter making sure her team stayed in the game.
Jakieya Thompson does a nice job controlling the tempo for her team pushing the ball up the court. She finds ways to get the ball to her teammates making sure she moves to get her the best pass inside. She has some nice fakes getting to the basket herself or opening up the court for her teammates. She goes after rebounds, too. She was sneaky sliding in to grab steals. She gave her team some life in the second half pushing the tempo and scoring through contact.
Ava Palmgren
Ava Palmgren
Ava Palmgren was handling the ball well and present on fast breaks ready for the pass to kiss off the glass for her points. She showed great awareness knowing when to pull up for her jump shot or take it all the way to the hoop. She scored old fashioned three point plays in transition. She can pull up for her three pointer making sure her opponents don’t leave her open again.
Skylar White had a nice pull up jumper after creating space from her defender with crossovers on the offensive side of the ball. She ran ahead on the court being ready for the pass and bucket on fast breaks. She can create her own solo plays pulling up for her jump shot. She read her opponents well jumping into passing lanes to take to the other end.
Anaya Hall was grabbing steals and pushing it up the court. She knew how to score by the basket off a pass or drive hard to the rim herself. She hustled up and down the court and came flying in out of nowhere to grab the rebound. She had a big fourth quarter battling against contact and finding herself on the free throw line.
