With players getting more and more athletic and skilled the position continues to evolve. The showcase showed some of the best around and here are a few that really impressed during the day.
Jordyn is only a freshman but one of the regions top players regardless of class. She can play both inside and in the perimeter and does both effectively. She has a motor that doesn’t quit and is a tremendous rebounder. Her enrollment into Sidwell Friends puts them in the conversation of a dynasty.
Nyla played very under controlled on her drives showing great athleticism and a nice pull-up jumper. She has good size and a college body and impacted the game with her physicality and ability to get to the line.
Drew wanted to show out as all players do facing their former team. She did, using her athleticism to cover a lot of ground on the defensive end and attacking the basket on the offensive end. She showed a good looking midrange shot and seemed to fit well in the Mustangs scheme.
Kendall is another player in line to keep the Quakers streak of all-American players going for at least another few years. Her game was one of the best in her class as a middle schooler and she gets better year after year. She is an excellent on ball defender and has the length and footspeed to deflect ball and jump the passing lanes. She is really good in transition and finishes well by the basket.
Ava attacked well fighting through contact and double teams. She finished well at the rim and got to the line repeatedly in her games. Her length and athleticism along with her versatility to play multiple positions makes er an asset on any level.
Cai played with a level of calmness as if she could see plays developing in advance. She is a really good ball handler and has a good feel for the game. She finishes well attacking the basket, has a nice shot and plays with a bit of flair in her game.
Highlights
Riley transferring into Bullis makes them a legit contender in the ISL. The Maryland commit showed that her game can fit in with any system. She can score in multiple ways and has the ability to guard each position. After dominating the Montgomery County public school league, navigating the private conference should be the perfect segue to prepare her for college.
