Ava had a strong overall game and really provided some leadership when needed. Her shot wasn’t falling, but the Maryland recruit still managed to score 19 points and grab 10 rebounds while playing tough defense. I like how she kept a calm demeanor and settled the team down when necessary.

Ava had one of the best runs that I’ve seen from her in a while. Everything was clicking and the three was on fire. She showed everyone in the building why Coach Frese was so high on her and that her ceiling has no limits. If she can continue at this level of play this season McDonogh will be very hard to beat.

Ava has what it takes on the court and if she puts it all together consistently this spring/summer she will have no problem getting her name called. Her stock rose significantly last summer which brought a lot of attention to McDonogh this season. She had times in front of the right people the said yes and will need to bring it every time she steps on the court from here on out.

Ava showed what all the fuss about her was about with hard play on both ends. She is gifted with all of the physical tools and her effort is all out typically. The results showed as she was able to show dominance from wire to wire.

Ava’s stock has been on the “Rise” all summer and hasn’t fallen off since the start of the season. She is long and uses her entire 6’1 frame making her appear to be around 6’4 on the court. She is very athletic and makes plays attacking and can hit from outside. She has been showing versatility operating both from the high post and the wing. She has also proven to be an excellent shot blocker with great timing. She has a good mix of inside and out for high school but, will most likely be a perimeter only player in college.

Ava finished with 11 points and played some excellent defense. She battled inside on defense and on the glass and really caused some matchup problems with her speed and high motor.

McDonogh had four players in double figures and Ava led the way with 11 points. She never gave up playing hard until the final buzzer despite the Eagle’s being down by as much as 40 points at one stage. She shot only 1 for 5 from the line and as she improves her free throw percentage her scoring output will follow as she is a magnet to the line in games we’ve watched. She used her length well when attacking finishing near the rim level.

Ava was the difference in this game for McDonogh in their big win over Pallotti. She led all scorers with 16 points and set the tone defensively. Her length and athleticism frustrated the smaller guards she was tasked with defending, as she harassed them all over the court, forcing turnovers and disrupting their offense. She showed why she picked up several Power 5 offers over the summer and is a player of the year candidate in the area.

Ava is an elite level wing that has every tool in her box that you desire from a wing. She laced up with the Blue Angels as some of her high school teammates did as well. I didn’t see her at every game but when she is on the court she is noticed immediately. She is one of the top players in the class nationally and can score in a variety of ways.
