If you don’t have Tinelli on your radar yet, you’re going to want to add her right now. For starters, she’s got all the speed and athletic ability that you could want from your point guard. She’s an excellent defender and she can apply a lot of pressure to the opposing team’s ball handlers. She gets out into the passing lanes to come up with steals and she crashes the boards extremely well, especially considering that she is a true PG. Tinelli is far from selfish, but when her team needs a bucket, she’s definitely one that they can turn to. She has shot the 3 ball at 41.7% clip so far this season and is averaging 7.6 PPG early on. She also has to be one of her team’s leaders in assists with her court vision and passing abilities. Tinelli brings energy and is an excellent 2 way player.

Simply put, Downey can put the ball in the basket. I pulled the stats for all 7 of the point guards included in this article, and while it is still early in the season, Downey is currently averaging the most points per game at 17.8. She’s also one of the leaders on the boards at 5 RPG, which isn’t surprising since she does a great job of crashing the boards as well. Downey is a high IQ player that can really create a lot of offense for not only herself, but also her teammates. She makes great passes and she can handle the ball even when she’s facing pressure. Downey continues to add more aspects to her all-around game and while she can really shoot the ball from deep, she continues to show that she’s a true 3-level scorer. Please note that her picture on here does not appear to to actually be of her.
Unfortunately, we don’t have any scouts in Somerset or the surrounding areas, or at least we don’t have any yet, so despite Combs being ranked in the top 15, we still may actually have her ranked a little too low for her talent level. The reason I say that is because I have heard from multiple people that I trust that she is the real deal and I really hope I get the chance to see her live instead of on a livestream at some point this season. However, her talent shines even through a computer. Combs has great ball handling skills. She has a variety of moves she can turn to and she does a great job changing speeds to keep the defense on their toes. She can score at all 3 levels as well. Combs can finish in really crafty ways around the basket and she does a great job of shifting her body to keep the defense from being able to block her. She’s got good range on her outside shot and she’s a good passer also.

Pelfrey is easily one of the top 2026 players I’ve seen so far. Her ranking is going to continue to rise because she’s a really talented player. Dixie Heights has been regarded as one of the top teams in the state and she is a major part of their early success. Pelfrey is long and athletic. She does a great job of crashing the boards and if you don’t get a body on her, she can get offensive rebounds and put backs all game long. She can finish well around the basket, but she also has a good outside shot. Pelfrey has excellent handles as well. She plays with a swagger that always makes me forget that she’s only a freshman. Pelfrey has almost had a double-double in a few games already this season and has been stuffing all categories of the stat sheet, so this versatile guard is certainly one to keep your eye on.
French is a very underrated prospect in the 2026 class. She’s a tough guard that brings a ton of value to the court. For starters, she is an excellent shooter. She can knock down mid-range shots or outside shots with her quick trigger. She’s shooting nearly 40% from deep so far on the season. When she catches the ball, she is a true triple threat. French can beat you off of the dribble, she can make great passes, or she can shoot the ball if you give her even a little bit of space. Her drives to the basket are strong and she can finish even through contact or she’ll knock down free throws if you foul her. French has excellent court vision and she can deliver some really impressive passes to her teammates. She’s really solid all-around and should continue to rise on these rankings.

Morgan is the lone player in this article that I haven’t gotten to watch even via livestreams or film, so I’m just going to state facts that I’ve been told. First, I’ve heard that she’s an excellent distributor on top of being a solid scorer. She’s a high IQ player that can handle the ball and the pressures that come with that. Morgan can score in the mid-range and outside of the perimeter. She’s a strong defender as well. Morgan is currently averaging 11.4 PPG and 4.4 RPG.
