A New Season, Is Underway! (WDA UPDATE)

<!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Finally, the time of year we have all been waiting for, Basketball Season! Let's take a look into some reviews, stat leaders and updates from the last 2 weeks. Also keep in mind these stats will change significantly due to multiple teams having to post-pone games due to severe weather. Never less, it's exciting to be back watching some great Basketball, let's get into it and check out what's been going on in the WDA (Part 1)</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Minot High: Is kicking it off coming in full steam ahead with 3 Big Wins against West Fargo 107-75, Dickinson 103-47 and St. Mary's 89-58. All 3 of their games have been amplified with excellent shooting from inside/out, and great ball movement. Speaking of shooting, Minot kicked off their season with a HUGE win against #3 West Fargo Packers and connecting 19/40 from the 3. Yes, you read that right....19 in a single game...that is impressive to say the least. They return an absolute army of players who are equally scoring from all angles on the floor. Frickie, Bell, Hight, Aguilar, Will, Lunde have all put up some big numbers....I think it's safe to say, they will be very tough this year, and fun to watch.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Century High: Another incredibly talented Patriot team is in store for 22-23'. The Patriots kicked off their season in Minnesota in Non-Conference games against Wayzata, and St. Michael-Albertville. Both games were a tough battle for the Patriots and came up short 56-69 and 70-72. Returning back to the Dakotas they picked up 2 solid wins against Dickinson 84-37, and TMCHS 98-47. There's no doubt they will be a tough team this year in the WDA as they return [player_tooltip player_id='100419' first='Logan' last='Nissley'], [player_tooltip player_id='100420' first='Bergan' last='Kinnebrew'], [player_tooltip player_id='341476' first='Eden' last='Fridley'], [player_tooltip player_id='398151' first='Zoie' last='Austin'], amongst others. Look for them to be a fast pasted, high scoring team ready to battle and put-up big numbers. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Bismarck High: Bismarck did not have any non-conference play yet before the season kicked off, but they did take on Mandan and Jamestown both in which they picked up 2 wins. They beat Mandan 62-46 and Jamestown 68-43. Bismarck is coming back with some good firepower on their squad, that has shown early they can knock down shots, and really put full-court pressure on incredibly well. So far BHS has shot 40.5% from the field and outscored their opponents 130-89 with Paige Bruer, [player_tooltip player_id='378042' first='Jersey' last='Berg'] and [player_tooltip player_id='196272' first='Peyton' last='Neumiller'] leading in scoring for the Deamons.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Bismarck Legacy started their year off with a non-Conference game against Fargo North which they picked up a good win 61-35. Following that they took on the Watford City Wolves and tallied up another win 86-40. Legacy is returning with an experience squad that any given night they can really put up some big numbers and be a tough team to beat. The Sabers are shooting a respected 37.9% from the floor and have outscored their opponents 147-78. Add some big rebounding from 6'3 Sophomore [player_tooltip player_id='375796' first='Brooklynn' last='Felchle'], they are another talented squad looking to make some noise. Leading the charge for the Sabers is [player_tooltip player_id='213379' first='Alyssa' last='Eckroth'], [player_tooltip player_id='245531' first='Adison' last='Sagaser'] and [player_tooltip player_id='375796' first='Brooklynn' last='Felchle']. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>St.Mary is also another WDA team that was able to pick up 4 games so far this season. They are starting off 2-2 with wins against Jamestown 62-49, and Williston 89-34. Their losses are Fargo Shanley in a Non-Conference game 34-40 and against Minot High 58-89. The Saints are putting up solid numbers so far this season outscoring their opponents 246-213 and shooting 32.8% from the field. There is no question they are going to be a tough team, with a roster full of shooters like [player_tooltip player_id='248044' first='Mykendra' last='Messer'], [player_tooltip player_id='100422' first='Lydia' last='Spies'], [player_tooltip player_id='408213' first='Lexi' last='Gerving'] and Gabbi Mann, they have proven they can drop um from all over and play a tough physical game every night. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Dickinson High has kicked off their season and traveled out went to Dawson Co. Montana for a non-conference game where they picked up a 74-25 win. Following that they jumped into WDA Season play and are 2-2 overall with losses to Century 37-84, Minot High 47-103 and a win against TMCHS 64-54.
