Hoover HS made the drive over from Alabama to South Carolina this past weekend and walked away with a perfect record. Hoover HS finished the weekend with a (3-0) record. Prep Girls Hoops saw the Lady Buccaneers defeat the host Westwood Redhawks 51-35. [player_tooltip player_id='318502' first='Reniya' last='Kelly'] and [player_tooltip player_id='318509' first='Kristen' last='McMillan'] both led the way with 14 points.

Kelly a crafty point guard will play next season in Chapel Hill, NC at the University of North Carolina. Reniya over the weekend became the all-time leading scorer in Hoover HS history with 1,884 points. Kelly plays the game under control and so unselfishly with her teammates. She really takes care of the ball and has a great feel for the game.

McMillan will be headed off to the University of Central Arkansas next season. Kristen was great around the bucket today finishing everything in sight it seemed. She can step-out to the elbow and knockdown the jumper. McMillan has great footwork around the paint while keeping the ball up high after claiming it off the glass.

[player_tooltip player_id='324035' first='Layla' last='Etchison'] will take her talents to Garden City Community College in Kansas next season. Layla will play in the Jayhawk Conference next season for Head Coach Antwain Scales. Etchison is a sharp shooting guard with a quick release. Layla really likes to swarm the ball on the defensive end of the floor. She finished with 11 points and 5 steals in the win over Westwood HS today.

[player_tooltip player_id='330698' first='Alicia' last='Reyes'] and [player_tooltip player_id='382891' first='Khloe' last='Ford'] both bring good post play to the table for Head Coach Krystle Johnson. Reyes a post player really looks to battle inside the paint and embraces on being a paint player. She understands how to box-out and seal down low on the block and battle. Alicia might not be the top name on this squad but she at the end of the day helps your squad win games.

Ford is just a freshman for the Lady Buccaneers. Khloe 6'3 a left-handed post player provided some good rebounding off the bench in limited minutes. Ford looks to be the future of this program down the road.
