This past weekend was the first on the 2026 AAU schedule for many teams, players and coaches. A number of those assemblings decided that the Prep Girls Hoops Circuit was a worthwhile initial pitstop on their club journey for the spring and summer.

The Southeast Kickoff was one of three Circuit events that took place this past weekend alongside similar events in New York and Chicago. It welcomed teams from North Carolina, South Carolina, Georgia and Alabama and utilized courts at Lenoir-Rhyne University, the Hickory Career and Arts Magnet High School and the Clark Recreation Center.

We see you, Seegars. Plenty of [program_tooltip program_id='714762' first='Charlotte' last='Dream Elite'] 14U's opponents did as well – and what they saw was her making play after play that got her team in the win column in all four of its contests. The 5-foot-10 eighth grade standout is rising up the ranks and is set to provide a noteworthy lift to 8A East Meck. Seegars is a very efficient floor runner and can greatly bolster a team's rebounding efforts. Converting on high-percentage opportunities is another strong point of Seegars' game – as is the ability to play on the wing as a team can place her in a starting five as either a two or a three.

Listed at 5-foot-9, Dupree is a multi-sport athlete who also plays varsity volleyball at 4A Nash Central in addition to what she gets accomplished on the basketball court. Following the freshman season she had with the Bulldogs where she averaged a double-double of 10.8 points and 10.8 rebounds (plus 2.2 steals) per game, Dupree has solidified herself as a frontcourt force to be reckoned with. In addition to her stellar play in Fire Ball Basketball Academy 15U's frontcourt, she does plenty of the little things that may not show up on a stat sheet but go a long way to getting a team in the win column – including hustling for loose balls and ensuring her arms are stretched out on defense.

Bridges, who plays her school ball at 5A Hickory, also fits the distinction of a two-sport athlete. Her second sport of choice is soccer. Given the location of this past weekend's Southeast Kickoff, Bridges did not have far to travel. Bridges has a great deal of speed and quickness – an attribute that is very helpful when attacking the basket. The ability to connect on 3-pointers is another strong point of Bridges' game and she can also help a team win with her defense and rebounding. [program_tooltip program_id='715813' first='Team' last='Hickory Basketball Club'] 15U finished 3-1 over the weekend. Bridges averaged 8.2 points, 4.6 rebounds, 2.4 steals and 2.1 assists this past season with the Red Tornadoes.

The mantra of “it's not how one starts but how one finishes” certainly applied to Scott and her Carolina Smoke 15U assembling over the weekend. Following a rocky start to Southeast Kickoff weekend on Saturday, Scott willed her bunch to a pair of wins on Sunday to finish the weekend. Considering she has the ball handling and rim attacking skills of a point guard and the long range accuracy of a two, Scott thrives as a combo guard. Rebounding and making plays in the transition game are also positives. With Hoggard graduating four seniors from its 2025-26 version that won an East Region championship, Scott is set to be one of the next women up for the Vikings.

Considering [program_tooltip program_id='1808859' first='Alabama' last='Dream'] 15U had the longest trek of any 15U on site at the Southeast Kickoff, a 2-2 showing can be considered a productive weekend. A former Alabama Smoke product, Davis, who can be placed in a team's lineup as either a two guard or at the point, has a great deal of speed in her game in addition to being accurate from behind the 3-point line. She delivers strong finishes at the cup and can match an opposing ball carrier step for step and move for move when she is on the defensive end of the floor. Davis' career has included playing middle school ball at McNair.
