The first game of the night was a 5pm meeting between St. Frances Academy of Baltimore and Penn Charter from Pennsylvania. This was a back-and-forth scrap featured runs by both teams. St. Frances held off the latest run by Penn Charter and prevailed 59-56.
Kam was at her best in this one, throwing some of the best passes I have seen in a while. She ran the Panthers’ offense with precision, getting her teammates into the right spots and then delivering precise passes where they could cash in for easy shots. She set the tone defensively and kept the team on track when things got shaky. She finished with 9 points and 12 assists. She walked off with the player of the game award for her efforts.
This was a good start to the season for Ms. Hicks. She led the team with 12 points and made a ton of hustle plays. She stretched the floor by knocking down a couple of three pointers and mixed it up on the boards and on defense.
Ande’a turned in a solid performance with 10 points and 8 rebounds. Her inside scoring was a problem for Penn Charter as she established good post position and moved without the ball for scoring opportunities.

Nekyla added a nice spark for the Panthers with her athleticism and hustle. She was a pest on defense and contributed to the team’s rebounding efforts. She finished with 7 points.
Sydney was huge for the Panthers in this one, especially in the fourth quarter where she scored 7 of her 9 points. She made some clutch shots in the closing minutes to help her team hold off a furious late push by Penn Charter. She strapped up on defense too, providing toughness and making it tough for her coach to take her off the floor.
