Continue ReadingI walked in the gym about 20 minutes before tip-off and the energy was up. I don’t know if it was because both teams were excited to compete or if it was just that type of game. Either way, I was ready to enjoy a great game of Oklahoma high school girls’ basketball. Below will be my observation of players that made an impact of the game and played well to help their team. Owasso pulled it out at home winning the game 43-41 over Union.
Aggressive player off the dribble, attacks gaps with purpose, can finish through contact, and can create space for her shot, will make her free-throws in crunch time, made a big-time 3-pointer in the fourth quarter to put her team up by 4 (28-38), Finished the game with 14 points.
Highlights
Controls the pace of the game. Displayed quickness off the dribble, will slice and dice in traffic and find a way to the basket, started the second half with a strong drive to the basket, has good footwork in the paint and executed an up and under move on the left side, she plays with good energy and doesn’t get tired – I think she played the whole game, Finished the game with 7 points.

Strong forward that works hard on both ends of the floor, she showed that she can make the open mid-range jumper, and post-up strong in the paint, she is an impressive rebounder and gave her team a few extra possessions, a solid defender – great instincts, Finished the game with 9 points.
Kynlie Wilson
Kynlie Wilson
Shooter, plays with good energy and works on the defensive end. She hit two big 3’s of the Lady Rams in the first half, High-IQ player that is rarely sped up when pressured and controls the pace of the game, defensively in the right spots, plays to win, Finished the game with 10 points.
Strong and athletic forward, will attack gaps with head up and can find the open teammate, Good defensive instincts, guarded the Owasso’s best player, had two strong post move – jump stop and elevated right over the defense for a floater in crunch time, Finished the game with 9 points.
Has a strong presence in the paint, off the dribble she is able to use her body to attack and finish, and is able to rebound against bigger players, finishes really well at the basket, able to set screens on the ball and pop for the outside shot, Finished the game with 14 points.
Controls the pace of the game, distributes the ball well to teammates and dribbles with her head up. Made a few big plays for her team including a 3-point bucket to bring her team within 1 point with 00:04 seconds left in the game, Finished the game with 5 points
