Anaiah had a really strong outing at McDonogh against Maret. She led the team in scoring with 12 points and pulled down 11 rebounds. She set the tone physically on defense and took a couple of charges.
Kennedy showed off her speed and quickness against McDonogh on her way to putting up 11 points and 5 assists. She showed the ability to score off the dribble or off pull up jumpers as well as the ability to run the point and set up teammates.
Highlights
Darielle Weems
Darielle Weems
Darielle has been on a bit of a tear recently. She is providing the team with a reliable post scoring option and a tough inside presence. She is a bit undersized but establishes deep postion and finishes through contact. She has good footwork and a nice touch around the basket.
Chloe Grenway
Chloe Grenway
Chloe is a shooting guard with good size and strength. She shot 3 of 7 from behind the three-point line in the game against Reservoir that I watched. She is a fierce competitor and plays solid on ball defense. She fights through screens and has good lateral quickness.
Aliyah played a tremendous defensive game against Hereford in a big county match-up last week. She used her length, size and quickness to hound the opponent’s best player into a subpar performance. She has tremendous instincts and knows how to use angles and leverage to frustrate opponents.
Aubrey Murray
Aubrey Murray
Aubrey turned in a stellar defensive performance against Tuscarora. She is an excellent shot blocker with impeccable timing, usually just tipping the ball to keep it in play. She was impactful on the boards too, rebounding out of area and keeping balls alive on the offensive glass.
Sydney Huskey
Sydney Huskey
Sydney is a bucket maker. She leads the county and league in scoring at about 25 points per game. Before suffering an ankle sprain against Tuscarora she had already reached her average. She gets a bunch of points in transition because she is a rugged defender and plays the passing lanes extremely well. She attacks the basket and finishes through contact and has range out to the 3 point line.
Skylar Davis
Skylar Davis
Skylar is a big, physical power forward that can defend the post and out on the perimeter. She has good speed for her size and attacks the basket aggressively off the dribble. She has a college body already and with some work on her ball handling could be an impact player at the next level.
