Aliyah played well off of her sister Bree as she does some of the little things on the court to determine wins and losses. Playing hard is something everyone can do but only a few do. Playing hard for her means she’s going after lose balls and finishing on plays that she should.

Already known as one of the top three defenders in the area, she has refined her offensive arsenal and is playing with a ton of confidence. If her perimeter shot keeps improving, her stock will rise considerably.

Aliyah is a high-level defender with a strong motor whose offensive game is starting to blossom. She can guard any position on the court and still disrupt the other team’s offense. She battles on the boards, especially on offense where she helps her team secure multiple possessions. She can contribute at the next level, especially at a DII or DIII level.

There are a lot of good defenders on this team takeover team, but I think

is the best one. She is versatile with her ability to guard 4 or maybe even 5 positions and completes defensively. She has long athleticism and the defensive instincts that take a player from being good on defense to being elite. She can shoot the ball some and is a solid offensive player overall, but again her calling card is her defense.

Aliyah played a tremendous defensive game against Hereford in a big county match-up last week. She used her length, size and quickness to hound the opponent’s best player into a subpar performance. She has tremendous instincts and knows how to use angles and leverage to frustrate opponents.

Aliyah was really strong in the paint and on the boards. She put up a stat line of 12 points and 8 rebounds to lead the team to a victory over a tough Seneca Valley team. She looks stronger in the upper body and is punishing defenders on post ups. Her ball handling has improved as well, which has helped to open up her game.

Aliyah is all length, playing much bigger than her 5’10” frame. She covers a lot of ground with her speed and instincts and comes up with a ton of deflections and blocks. She rarely goes for the emphatic block out of bounds, opting instead to keep the ball in play. She is hard for ball handlers to get around, and if they do get past her she is always in the picture looking for the chase down steal or block.
